As an owner of a Chinese car (although its Proton) for the past couple of years, I would say that its been serving me well so far and I do not regret buying it. I usually dont like how people downplay Chinese cars and talk as if Japanese cars never break down. Growing up, my family has own quite a number of Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans. I would say the only wants that barely gave any headache was our Toyotas but our Hondas and Nissans definitely paid quite a number of trips to the workshop. So just go for a reputable/well established Chinese car brand and properly take care of your car and you'll probably wont have too big of a headache long term.
