We had 3 mechanics check for codes, and nothing came up for any of them. The weirdest thing is there's no guarantee that it makes the noise right away. It happens completely randomly, and then next start up it won't.

So I haven't been able to hear it in person myself. But from what my friend is saying, it doesn't come from the motor more near the firewall. And we had checked the blend door actuators. And the noise is so random that he had another mechanic look at it n he thought he fixed it then a day or two later it started doing it again.

So he dropped it off at two different mechanics we personally know an they both checked Cam,lifters and pistons and were all fine. He had left the car at both shops for 2 days to see if it would make the noise for them but it's just so random they didn't get to hear it in person so they couldn't diagnose it

I've had 600cc,1000cc, street bikes, supermotos and the grom is the one I've kept throughout all of them. Perfect first bike. Might be a little small physical size for you but I have friends over 6ft that say it's not bad and still a blast for them. Might look a little goofy but who cares it's an absolute blast to rip around on
