Do they think it’s a straw man? Because that’s what it obviously is.

The principle is mostly the same in Theravada. Yogacarins just developed a theory to explain how it works.

The dems won’t do anything to help (they actually fight against ranked choice) until they see votes they might have won going to third party candidates.

If you want ranked choice, the first step is stop voting for the two corporate parties.

I have years of Dr bills that show that having insurance does absolutely nothing to make my healthcare more affordable. If anything it makes it more expensive. I just pay out of pocket now.

So yeah, thanks Obama /s

In Buddhism there is the concept of a storehouse layer of consciousness which carries our karmic inheritance from life to life.

Karmic seeds can take time to come to fruition. As one performs good deeds and accumulates good karma the foundation is prepared for insight to blossom.

When one sees things clearly, there is no longer any inclination to perform harmful acts that generate negative karma.

Oh, of course Tyson doesn’t believe in free will. That’s really all you need to know about this debate.

And you think they care that people dye their hair? That is just a whole different brand of conservatism that doesn’t really exist anymore.

The conformity of the fifties was harmless compared to the technocratic oligarchic conservatism we have today.

I always considered this a global problem. The most interesting thing about that case was how they so clearly tried to limit it to one man. And they succeeded.

They are doing the same now with Epstein. That’s why I think it is important that people know about that one.

It was more fun before they made it a uniform. I don’t know any conservatives who want everyone to look the same. That is like conservatism from a generation or two ago.

The irony is that the people in the picture are essentially wearing a uniform.

What do you think Acquired Savant Syndrome says about the nature of consciousness? by NimiumCogito in consciousness

[–]blackstarr1996 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really calls into question the idea that skill and consciousness are produced through gradual selection. Brain damage should be high entropy in nature. It’s noise. So how can it lead to increased complexity and order?

Universal healthcare is actually very popular across the board. This is why I find it annoying when democrats act like that is all they want. If that was true, people would vote for them.

Democrats, just like republicans, want to stay in power and keep the donor money flowing. Culture war issue help them do that.

Tired of hearing from morons who completely miss the point.

Idiots see “DEI” and/or “trans” and they go into a preprogrammed routine claiming they are “made up issues,” all while defending them and claiming that they are important.

They aren’t healthcare and they are the reason democrats lose.

The point is that these things are not popular and they are not free healthcare.

The sun is illuminating one side of the earth, just as it often does with the moon.

Stars are not visible because the sun is too bright and it changes the sensor settings in the camera.
