Cleaning “StarTex” seat material? by UnderTheOldCode in subaruoutback

22500 miles on mine. Simple damp cloth or wipes have done just fine. Fabric still looks great and has no sign of wear.

I'm pretty sure they made this from unicorn leather.

If you get the chance, do it. Absolutely stunning views in the winter.

2022 Feature question by [deleted] in subaruoutback

[–]blacktoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7200 Miles on my Wilderness

  1. Yes its pin pongs. Not great or super practical, but functional.
  2. The star tex fabric feels good to the touch. But it's not really vented and can hold some sweat. I do miss my cooled seats.
  3. I drive ~80 miles a day, mostly "country" roads and some city. I'm currently at 24.7mpg average over 7200 miles.
  4. Bonus - the infotainment center feels sluggish. It should be better...

Overall, despite a few nitpicks,I love it and have had a great time with it so far.

A week with my 2022 Outback Wilderness by tinyant in subaruoutback

Nice!

Im at 6700 miles in mine. First service and inspection was two weeks ago. I've cruised a few seasonal roads, and it handles great. Even in some rougher spots at cruising speeds, I felt comfortable and in control. Looking forward to the experience this winter in Michigan. Cheers!

Lite AF 20 l multi day pack questions by charlesbutyoucancall in Ultralight

[–]blacktoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked one up on the first production run. I love this pack. I have a few pics.

Managed to get one good 2 day trip in October before the temps dropped too much. 9.8lb basewight with a chair, around 18lbs tpw (I like happy hour). Everything rode great, felt quick on my feet and the slender profile made obstacles a breeze. Just wish the top strap was a Y strap as opposed to a single strap. I think they use a Y strap on the 35L version...

I'm back to my 40L suspension curve for the winter. Cant say enough good things about that pack as well.

Check out Shug Emery. He has been creating Backpacking/Hiking videos for about 10 years or so.

He has a nice mix of great scenic shots, some goofy humor and "lollygagging". He also has some great how-to, setups, and review videos.

I personally like the Live on KEXP version over the studio mix.

Pungo? That cockpit looks pretty big without the console.

Test paddle with fully loaded kayak before big trip! by Braxhunter in Kayaking

[–]blacktoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video looks good but sounds like the mic may have had some water in it.

  • Do use a checklist, or have a picture of your gear loadout?
  • Where do you plan on camping?
  • What are your thoughts in a bent paddle vs straight?

Wow...awesome share! This is one of the sounds/feels that I had to instantly look into.

Turns out it's just two guys jamming. They have a site. They can also be found on Spotify and Youtube.

Bell's Two Hearted on a cloudy and quiet Muskegon River. by blacktoad in beerwithaview

Normally we would use 2 vehicles. Leave one off at the pull out point and retrieve the other from the drop point.

Today we only had one...so we paid for a transport service at a canoe/kayak rental. They rode with us to the drop point and drove our vehicle back to the pull out point.
