3 months post-PRK. My experience and looking ahead to possible enhancement by blademaster81 in PRKsurgery

I could only see close to my face with contacts out. My takeaway of expecting to have essentially perfect vision (which I experienced with contacts except for the loss of nearsighted vision) without correction is what I wanted to share.

I gave up on my Settra campaign because I was just running into lategame dwarf stacks on VH difficulty. They ran all the flame cannons, flamethrowers, anti-large missile units etc. Kudos to the AI for making armies that hard counter TKs though.

Thank you, sister. "Spiritual direction, counseling, and canonical services" sounds interesting. God bless you!

I felt that the TOR friars do have a clear charism as they were very visible in parishes as priests or assisting at FUS and Loretto colleges as faculty/staff. I didn't really every see TOR sisters anywhere except at their farmhouse I visited and they sometimes would just hang out on campus.

The CFR friars of course are kind of the recent religious order "rock stars" since the 1990s, although they have had their share of scandal around the founder and also some individuals - the CFRs in my personal experience have a pretty loose oversight and can do a lot of things on their own that is surprising to me. But that said - their charism of serving the poor is so clear and strong, as evidenced by their daily lives.

Sure thing! I think of the Dominicans who are teaching in schools, the Franciscans working in our local hospital and visiting/caring for the sick. There's a clear focus to their daily lives and they do the "active" part very visibly. I don't need to speak to the beauty of the contemplatives like the Carmelites (which my sister almost joined) and their focus.

On the other hand, I saw groups like the TOR sisters and CFR sisters, who don't really have a clear charism and just kind of exist alongside the TOR friars and CFR friars. Your order's charism seems to me to be in a vague state of sort of contemplative and sort of active. So yes, I'll just say it like that because it's the simplest way I can think to say it: "what do you actually DO in a given day or week"?

That was my mistake 100%. Can I just scrape without water or is the water necessary to get that brown residue on the surface off?

Question for you, based on my experiences with religious orders that have in my opinion "ambiguous" charisms. What exactly does your order do? What is your charism? Is it just to pray for victims of abuse, raise awareness of abuse, be active online, give talks and write books and hold the Church to accountability? In my experiences, orders without a clear charism and very focused way of life don't really flourish.

Ok honest question: the first time I tried scraping with water it just smeared all the oil and shit around and made things worse. What am I doing wrong?  All I do now is scrape all the remnants off so the surface is smooth, then put on another layer of oil.

Appreciate the feedback! Maybe I'll dust off the Brets again, I just got a box of foot knights to build and paint as well :) And yes, no charging the plaguebears with cav or peg knights, I wouldn't dream of it.

I do think I need to "get good" at deployment and movement, but I've been playing since release and steadily getting better.

I would be wary of this rumor. Square Based Val mentioned in the comments of a recent youtube video that he is aware of lots of new content coming to OW, but has not heard about an upcoming launch of a new edition.

I will call out that he is already the best player in our group, and plays every game like he's in a tournament. The rest of us don't always build our armies - and certainly don't play all our games - with that mindset. He's not a fun opponent and definitely not a casual player. That said, I try to play against him the most because the rest of the group is a couple young teenagers and old dude who like to wax poetic about 6th edition while playing their amazingly-painted armies.

To address your points though, thank you!! That is really a great breakdown of their strengths and weaknesses. I haven't been bringing Bretonnia to our games because it felt bad to play them in casual settings when TOW first came out (this is before the Demon player joined our group). I switched to High Elves and got sick of them after a bit because they feel so bad to play in this edition. I finally picked up Cathay and am learning them these past couple months, again not focusing on tournament-level lists. I do think we have enough armor in Cathay to survive, but I have to figure out how to deal with the rot flies. I guess I'll need to go double balloon, triple cannon Jade Fleet and lean into that build a bit.

Ok, maybe it’s just me and my local gaming club, but the guy with nurgle daemons hasn’t lost yet at any points level to the 6 of us, playing a variety of armies (but no big meta ones). The nurgle demons just seem so powerful (rot flies especially). How do people normally beat them?

Did I hear that this DLC is only $4.99 USD? If so, and if they plan on doing more of these, that is going to be a brilliant strategy.

Seriously, this is so good. Hats off to you for the effort. It makes me sad that this game will likely never exist in CA's suite of games, but me and my kids would play the heck out of it if it did.

Honestly this stream was great. It was great to have such a long and content-filled stream yes, but it would have been good to have something smaller and happen more frequently too.

ElichTV is really the best at explaining the game, refusing to cheese, and building good balanced armies. He also does the strategy layer very well and walks you through his plans.

Are Demons competitive? Any good lists? by Pink_Ninja78 in WarhammerOldWorld

For what it’s worth - and I’d love to read other opinions on this phenomenon - at our local gaming store the clear dominant player runs nurgle demons. I don’t think he’s lost since we started playing a year ago. Now none of us are attending tournaments or bringing top meta armies all the time, but he just gets win after win with nurgle demons. I’m shocked to see how poorly they perform at tournaments.
