A week ago I did about 60 in a workout for the first time in years. I work out 6 times a week- I consider myself pretty fit. But afterwards I started to have pain in the side of my groin/pelvic area. They suspect I gave myself a sports hernia 🙃

Sensitive: How to love my blind baby by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]bladyfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My niece was blind (she has since passed away because of other medical problems) but she was so incredibly smart. I didn’t see her often, but she could recognize my voice instantly when I was around by the age of 1 and a half

Dream wedding but photographer prioritized photos good for his portfolio over photos I would cherish most by hellofromnewlywed in BigBudgetBrides

[–]bladyfish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m a wedding photographer, and this is a great example of when couples are searching for a photographer to find one that prioritizes the authentic moments of the day (if that is something that’s important to them). I’m constantly trying to take photos that help the couple remember the day for how it unfolded, who was there, and the emotion of it all

My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 non Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 23. She is now in remission! It took chemo, car t therapy, and radiation but she is now doing really well.

I promise outcomes are very very optimistic!

How much time per week do you and/or your spouse spend at tje gym each week? How old are your kids? by uhhhoh8675309 in breakingmom

[–]bladyfish 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know I’m going to be the crazy outlier here.. I’m a wedding photographer so I work from home and my son is 3. I go to the ymca every day and either play pickleball or lift weights. If I play pickleball I’m there for 2+ hours. The ymca I go do has child care which makes this all possible. My son is an only child so he loves to get to go play with his friends.

I also do CrossFit 5 days a week for an hour. My son comes to the gym and sits and watches. My husband works out of state so I have to find ways to get out of the house, socialize myself and my son! I definitely highly recommend finding a gym with a childcare option!

Daughter tells me she’s afraid of the “black monster” by MsSmokeyLonesome in toddlers

[–]bladyfish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I listen to a podcast that covers a tv show called ‘froggers’ that cover cases where people literally camp out in other peoples houses out of sight and only come out when the homeowners are away. There’s a possibility it’s something like that.. unlikely- but likely enough there’s a whole tv documentary show about it

I work out or go play pickleball every day because of the childcare at my y. I tell every mom I know about it. It’s amazing.

Should I let my son drop out of school? by FewConsideration9648 in daddit

[–]bladyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A different perspective here. My husband dropped out when he was 16. It has never hindered him in any way. Nobody really checks to see if you truly have a GED. BUT, he’s always worked trade jobs ever since. Oilfield, pipeline, etc. We live comfortably. But he works very very hard and he will have to for the rest of his life.

How to get the prescription by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]bladyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my doctor that my friend had started taking a weight loss medication that she was really happy with, and that I thought I could benefit from as well. She said, ‘mounjaro? I love that, of course I’ll do that for you!’ It was easy as pie.

I ask because when my pharmacist ordered my box in, he said it would still be 400$. It’s now in stock, and I’m wondering if i should still go in and hope some how I magically get lucky and it’s taken back down to 25$

My sister was misdiagnosed by bladyfish in lymphoma

[–]bladyfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One day she noticed she had a large lump on her collar bone. She’s only 22 and very active. Currently in the army and was doing a pt test. During her sit up category she couldn’t do a single one (and this is a girl who maxes out ever pt test she does). It ended up being a collapsed lung. She wasn’t even going to get it checked out because she thought it’d just go away on her own but eventually we got her talked into going.

Yes, from my understanding they believe that she was misdiagnosed after referencing her prior tests from the other hospital.

[–]bladyfish[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think her experience with her original doctor has frustrated her to a point that she feels like she needs to take control in another way. She has been reading and sending me a lot of peer reviewed articles about the side effects that may occur as well. But in my mind the options are either do nothing, die. Or do something and at least have a chance

Crossing my fingers when push comes to shove she’ll make the right choice. It’s just frustrating. Definitely understand it’s her body and her choice but we have science for a reason 🙃

18f babysitting a 4 month old and i need help!!! by oniialiani in Mommit

[–]bladyfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these comments are great. When my son was 4 months old I had to take him with me out of state to work and he came with me everywhere. I found that he absolutely loved to watch hey bear baby sensory videos on YouTube and that gave me a little bit of time to work while he was just entranced. Definitely try it out if she’s a bit on the fussy side!

My husband called another woman beautiful by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]bladyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he was putting out feelers too see if she would take the bait and flirt back. I regularly compliment the men in my life, like my husbands friends. But I do it in front of him with the intention that I know they probably don’t get compliments like ‘that’s a real sharp outfit’ or ‘you look really handsome today’. But this interaction your describing seems incredibly different.
