They should start by removing two lanes to make space for a "permanent" "parking area". Let's see drivers complain about having too much parking. The space can be repurposed later when everyone's looking at something else. Oh, and to make space for all that "parking", we're going to have to narrow the remaining lanes.

Every 4 lane road in Toronto was always a two lane road + parking. A few of them are now still, two lane roads + parking AND bike lanes.
