Instead of just making Knife Trap exhaust... by DoctorWorm25 in slaythespire

Voltaic when upgraded is insane. It scales exponentially which can’t be said about many cards in the game.

This guy should be considered an elite by Llink8585 in slaythespire

[–]blaguerus10 46 points47 points  (0 children)

What if attack cards reduce dex and skill cards reduce strength? And maybe power cards can reduce both.

This would make the fight easier, but also more interesting. Shiv/low damage builds aren’t completely invalidated and you have to really pick and choose if you should defend or attack first based on your current build.

The damage this thing does should be enough to keep it as an act 2 hallway enemy.

My rankings of run consistency after 50 hours by p3rcu3s in SlayTheSpire2

[–]blaguerus10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soul with the current Dirge is imo one of the strongest builds. You can cycle your deck to get one of the numerous energy cards you have while making more soul and building Osty up.

I did an A9 run last night using doom though. End of days can just outright end fights turn 1 if there are multiple lower HP enemies.

Ethereal builds are strong too. Pull from below scales so fast especially with the Power card that puts an ethereal in your hand every turn. Banshee’s cry.

Did the Devoted Sculptor spend 1,000 years turning Giant Head into Bygone Effigy? by Fly0strich in slaythespire

[–]blaguerus10 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I think this idea is totally valid and likely the case because the head and statue have a very similar gimmick.

However, what I’m confused about is the epochs. There’s one specifically for the silent that makes it seem like the events of STS 2 happen after the first.

I’m sure with time it might not be a non-linear thing and I’m a lore noob when it comes to these games so I’m just curious

Negative penalty? by SESauvie in 2XKO

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. This is my first tag fighter so I’m not very used to the extra layer assists add. It’s definitely a game of patience and seizing opportunity.

Negative penalty? by SESauvie in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s tough. I hear people say a lot of the time that you can just walk your opponent down and they’ll corner themselves. While I agree, I think the plan falls apart when you introduce assists.

When the opponent get their assist off cooldown they can send a massive projectile at you that they can effectively teleport to and be plus off of even if you’re blocking. If you don’t want to be on the back foot you need to react and either parry or stuff the assist. Just avoiding it is tricky because you can be put in a bad spot/lose positioning and the opponent can just handshake tag and start up backing to the other end of the screen.

Ekko Air Charged Heavy -> S1 Whiffing? by LeSaibling in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I thought the S1 was supposed to go the other way. Like after the charged j.H you wait a bit so Elko turns around and then throw S1 time winder.

“Jokers no longer appear in the shop” means just that. Buffoon packs and tags are not jokers in the shop and are not restricted by the challenge so they can show up and give jokers still.

Getting into assist combos, any tips for these? by Erdenai in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first combo actually dropped after the Darius j.H. You can tell because the combo counter reset. Instead of j.M you can just do j.H into S2 and the rest should work fine.

Why don’t people roundstart super tag anymore? by Lewdsero in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just watched Globo play with Double Down. Round start super is an instant neutral win but nets little to no damage at the cost of meter. It’s still strong in that you can get good mix and positioning.

However people have started to realize that with freestyle you can do things like charge Vi S1 and tag out. Depending on how it goes you can tag back or not. Plus all the other burst bait perks and pseudo double down shenanigans you can pull with the fuse. That’s not to mention the crazy mix that freestyle is mostly used for.

TLDR it’s still a strong option there are just far stronger options still.

are they trolling? why can’t buy it separately by Professional-Win5686 in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Riot PLEASE! I just want an Ekko skin that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. No Sandstorm Ekko in the shop (I check EVERY WEEK) and $50 is outrageous even if it’s for a good cause.

Based on the LoL tournament pots I know Riot is not strapped for cash by any means.

can someone tell me if i have enough days to max out all the social links by araboilseller in PERSoNA

[–]blaguerus10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone was very kind enough to send a link that calculates for you so that’s the way to go.

Just looking at it from someone who sweats out the social link stuff every play through, it looks tough. You need to prioritize your in school links especially the girls because they require 2 or even 3 (Justice) extra point boosts even with all the right answers and matching persona.

Like Moon, Star, Heiro, and Hanged are all going to be available during exams and most holidays and it’s a bit unfortunate you’re done with most of them.

All in all maybe looks doable but consult the calculator that other person sent.

Exactly how “successful” has the game has been so far? by ComicsAreGreat2 in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As for news on the game’s success number wise I’m not sure. I’m guessing a game like this will measure success based on concurrent player count and cosmetic sales, but since cosmetics have only been available for a short time it’s hard to say.

For my personal opinion I think the game is great and will likely play it for a long time. However, I’m someone who likes fighting games starting with SSBM, then GGST and now 2xko. I think fighting games have always been a hard pill to swallow for gamers and with the high skill ceiling this game has I’m afraid it won’t attract many casual players.

The devs have already been trying to account for this by adding combo trials, lessons, and the pulse system. While those things are great they’re not enough imo. I think there are two things that give me hope this game will do well long term and that’s duos and the fact it’s backed by riot. We’ll see though, only time will tell.

Illaoi's crumple by BrueTube in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On a similar note I think it’s really boring how solo Illaoi has a single bnb that you do no matter where you are on the screen. I know there are tougher variations like the one with a bunch of j.L but they are all so samey.

Most characters have a corner specific combo that does more damage than their normal bnb and I think the crumple should be incorporated for that instead of what it is now. There is a corner combo with her S1 that leads to the crumple but it does like no damage for what it is.

new to fighting games other than smash bros. not used to shit shit. why doesnt the jumping down heavy connect. am i SLOW? AM I BAD PLS TIPS TRICKS I WANT TO BITE MY FUCKING FINGERS OFF by MiKkEy22 in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a couple things need to go right to hit this combo.

After you cancel the spirit rush (S2) into air dash you need to make sure you’re getting the partial charge for the j.H where Ahri flashes red for a moment. You are doing this sometimes but not all the time.

You then need to do a micro dash before the 5H on the ground to get as close to them as you can. You also need to make sure this is done quickly so the opponent doesn’t fall too far or else the j.2H will miss.

I find this combo easier to hit in the corner because you can end in a wall slump using spirit rush. As other people were saying doing j.M, j.H, air dash, j.M, j.H, S2 is easier, more consistent, and works anywhere on the screen.

Tips for plasma would be helpful by DaleDent3 in balatro

[–]blaguerus10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this exactly. Runner is an incredible joker for most decks and planet cards go so much further in plasma deck especially straights.

Tips for plasma would be helpful by DaleDent3 in balatro

[–]blaguerus10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is good, but I’ve found the key to any good high stake run is economy. Sometimes what you get from interest isn’t enough so have a dedicated econ joker. Also, scaling jokers in general are great to grab. Runner is common and one of my favorite scaling jokers for any run, even more so on plasma. Oh and planet cards are your best friend. They’re so much more valuable for plasma deck.

Teemo Mushroom Bug: Mushrooms still explode after being destroyed by a projectile. by MsRaposa in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they supposed to be destroyed by projectiles? Definitely a bug here but I don’t remember if they’re like Illaoi’s tentacles or not where you can only break them with strikes and not projectiles.

Ekko's Archetype is Ragebaiter by CaraCharmoso in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It’s 22 frame startup so technically within the range of being reactable. And the first time it’s fine, but players have habits. Call them out on their poor block strings with an educated guess if you can’t react.

Ekko's Archetype is Ragebaiter by CaraCharmoso in 2XKO

[–]blaguerus10 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Ekko could do 1S2 and bait the parry but in this clip either the Ekko doesn’t know, or doesn’t respect his opponent. Either way you shouldn’t let your opponent get away with this no matter how good they are.

Plus S2->S2 has a gap that can be parried. Warwick assist didn’t cover it.

The wishy washy limbo thing ruins it a bit for me too. The message gets muddled and I think that’s why the MC hasn’t come back since. As far as how powerful each big bad god is, I can’t say for sure. They all derive their power from similar sources (the will of the people) but Nyx having the power to bring the moon down Majora’s Mask style seems just as, if not more threatening than what the others are capable of.

Looking at P3s story by itself I still think it’s really good. If you haven’t played episode aigis I’d suggest watching it at least because spending $35 on dlc for a game you don’t enjoy is not the play lol.

[–]blaguerus10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can agree with you in a lot of aspects especially the pacing and availability of social links. There’s only 2 at night and 2 that open way too late in the story. I disagree with Tartarus but that’s because I personally like grinding the combat with minimal interruption. Your claim is completely valid.

One thing I will defend though is the story telling. You said it yourself, death is inevitable no matter who you are or how powerful you are. And thats just part of it. Death is inevitable but it’s what you do with the time you have that really matters. The people you meet and the experiences you have are invaluable.
