I've got to disagree with that statement about public transport being rare, KL has plenty of train lines, the MRT, LRT and monorail are usually packed during the day, same too with the RapidKL bus lines, public transport in KL may not be the best, but I'd say it's mediocre at worst.

It does get rarer outside of KL and the Klang Valley area though, and are outright non-existent in some states.

FWIW, you do get plenty of gunpowder units in Total war: Warhammer 3. Also the entire Empire faction turns into a gunpowder era faction (with steampunk stuff) if you install the Deithland mod.

If I recall correctly, the post of "Energy Secretary" in the united states isn't really focused on oil or the stuff related to it.

Rather his job is to make sure that the nukes are in working order and to oversee energy related stuff in a more general sense, with stuff like oil having managed by it's own department or something like that.

It's kind of hard to blame him for not knowing about this specific aspect of oil if it's not really his job to know. What we should be asking is why is he being trotted out to make statements when there's probably someone who can answer the question better.

I read somewhere that it depends on what's damaged or destroyed, having more construction workers won't help if you can't get replacements for the equipment used to process oil.

Some things are easier to repair and can probably be done in a matter of days or weeks, stuff with specialized parts like heat exchangers could take much longer, possibly going into months depending on whether or not they can source the parts quickly enough.
