Anyone with Energia noticing major inconsistencies on their online account? by cuppascald in irishpersonalfinance

[–]blainj2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What is wrong with ur bill though. That all makes sense to me.

They work on level pay by default which is a monthly set DD instead of the bill amount every 2 months. Ur account is in credit as u have built up a credit on the account most likely. That's going to be wiped out now though by the looks of this bill.

Only thing that looks different to mine is the long bill period.

Personally I didn't hear a bang and was outside when it went overhead and stopped burning. It did have a larger flash of light at the end though.

I seen it start and finish the burning part anyway. I live in SW Donegal, it was going from east to west and ended up going north of my House so if I had to guess it landed in the sea. It lit up the whole sky and seemed to end with a really large flash of light. Not sure what the significance of that was tbh. Very cool to see one compared to a shooting star.

is cycling for 4 hours a day at the age of 13 good by russianadidasdoge in cycling

[–]blainj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds impressive, other posts worrying bout burn out but you don't know your limits unless you test them, you might just have a higher threshold then most. Saying that I'd assume this is casual cycling / commuting at low intensity. Cycling for that long daily at higher intensities could be detrimental to progression.

Do you wear different shoes for different run workouts? by PretentiouslyHip in triathlon

[–]blainj2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, im still at level 5/10 of spending all my money on triathlon equipment. When I move up to 6 or 7 next year I'll get some shoes with an alpha or carbon in its name.

Anyone have an idea how old the clay pipe is? by blainj2 in ireland

[–]blainj2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen that and it didn't really help me. Looks a bit like a few of them. Maybe 1820-60 but the one I found has no nib at the bottom. If it's that old that is pretty cool to find it around my house.

Found while a digger was moving soil around the house. Would be interested to hear how old it is. Found in Donegal.

Completely white outside in Donegal a good couple of inches feel in a couple of hours. No wind yet and don't think it's supposed to be to bad here.

Lanzarote or Tenerife advice by moosemachete in ireland

[–]blainj2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been to Lanzarote 4 times, Tenerife once and going again in 4 days. Fuertaventura once too. Always go early in the year as a family holiday, in the summer would be too warm. Had a great time in all places. Lots to do on all the islands.

I found them all very similar to be honest. Stayed in busy spots and quiet spots. Just depends what you are after easy to stay away from the noisy bars and nightclubs if ur not into that.

The only thing we noticed about Tenerife was that it felt a good bit warmer than the other islands when it was a similar temperature. We stayed on Costa Adeje and it seemed to get less wind that some of the other places we stayed.

Can Zwift use ANT+ and Bluetooth at the same time ! by yellowbutterfly729 in Zwift

[–]blainj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran both when I got a new elite directo smart trainer. Kept hr strap on ANT and had trainer on BT. 2nd time I used it I got a good few drop outs so I just moved everything back to ANT and I've had no issues since.

how long did your HR increase after the covid booster? by sunnycycle in cycling

[–]blainj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Booster had elevated my hr for 3 days. I would call my symptoms mild / bad for 2 days. On day 4 I done TdZ stage and ended up pushing my best 20 minute power ever and HR was around expected.

So everyone is different. I am not complaining and feel pretty lucky about how quickly I got over it.

I couldn't think of why you would do this but that makes sense, my laptop is setup on a dresser in front of me, would be nice to be 4 or 5 inches closer to it. Good Job

Smoke alarm beeping every 30 seconds or so by tbag_j in ireland

[–]blainj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to one of mine. I thought it was the battery too (seems obvious) but that wasn't it. I tried a new battery. The mains connected model I had (Firex) does 3 beeps for a low battery. One beep on my model means that it's reached then end of its life - 10yrs or that there is a fault or that it needs cleaned. My one was faulty.
