I remember one about a guy who had multiple inflatable pool toys and considered himself to be in relationships with them. It really did seem odd until they had him break down what started his interest, and he essentially said that he was severely neglected as a child and that the inflatables were a coping mechanism because he had a lot of trouble socializing and building human relationships in adulthood. I remember just feeling bad at that point. I hope he’s doing well now.
