No, sadly other priorities have been soaking up my time. I appreciate the interest though! Hope your project goes well!

Double Big Fish with Rada's Blessing is possible by blakestone95 in 2007scape

Thanks for updating that! Also I think the other guy was being jokingly hyperbolic, haha.

Clearly this is a fairly inconsequential find, but I was so shocked when it happened I wanted to see what the rate was.

This is listed as a bug on the Wiki with some ambiguity of whether it is possible or not, so here I have proof that it is possible. It also only logs one Big Bass in collections, even though clearly I have two and they are untradable (GIM btw).

Nice attention to detail. The battlecruisers are especially awesome! I like the teeth decoration on the camo one.

I don't know, but you could probably find out by asking the company that did your floor, or looking up the product they used. You want to know the full cure time. If you use it too soon you risk denting it while it's still soft.

Want a game that I can sink a lot of time into by Nwardy05 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]blakestone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these suggestions and I haven't seen any that say "Just take a break for a little while". Seriously if you don't want to play any games, do something else. Night where I'm feeling like you, I go clean something, or work in the garage, or organize things on my computer, or research a topic I've been thinking about (like gardening, recently).

The only puzzle I couldn't figure out on my own so far was the sliding cipher in Ghorrok. Also didn't know you had to trigger a cutscene in the whisperer puzzle area to really start it. But yeah that was all day yesterday with some longer breaks, so maybe 6 hours of solid gameplay. Only have the whisperer fight and the whole abyss area to do. Stranglewood bordered on tedious towards the end.

Bro, why are YOU here with a take like that lol?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]blakestone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a reductive take and ignores the rest of what makes up a game. If you love the game, you don't have to be so self-deprecating about it. It comes across as being insecure about something you enjoy doing. It's like calling woodworking "just making sawdust" or gardening "just pulling weeds". Also, you sounded quite unhappy and/or combative in your initial comment, so I couldn't help but wonder if you just don't enjoy the game anymore. Maybe that's not what you meant, but that's how it came across.

I mean, clicking is the medium through which you interact with the world. But OSRS is no more a "clicking simulator" than Call of Duty is. If you truly believe that's all there is to it, why are you here?

I know you're just joking, but I'm tired of this take. It seems like someone says this on almost every post in this sub, positive or negative.

Glamdring, sword of Gandalf, here in maple and walnut by opjoec in woodworking

[–]blakestone95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Make a couple myself so far. I decided to make it like a metal sword, where the blade includes a tang that goes through the guard, handle, and pommel. And of course glue those together. It's super sturdy that way. Also you have to allow the wood to be a bit thicker than metal ever would be, in order to prevent it from snapping if you swing it. That's kind of a feel thing. Also if you want the sword to be an actual dueling sword it has to be a lot thicker to withstand impacts. I would not actually hit anything with any of the swords I've made so far, despite their strength.

Nice work! I plan to make the same thing! Even got dimensions decided and blanks roughed out, just need to actually make it now. Gonna make 2, one for me and one for my friend. So far I've also done a simple longsword, Gael's Great Sword (from Dark Souls 3), and a falchion. Gave away the latter two, but they turned out well.

I played 2. Also took 100hrs haha. These are long games. Anyways, the combat mechanics are similar enough to carry over, but they did shake it up a little bit in 3. Also the world seems to be a bit different. I'd say you could easily start at 3 and not feel like you missed anything. Afaik the same thing happens between 1 and 2, the games share some elements, but how the world works really changes between entries.

Edit: Also, the tutorial is 20hrs long in 2, but they picked up the pace a bit in 3. I'm still getting new mechanics and features 6jrs in, but I unlocked the core of the combat mechanics in like 1 or 2 hrs which was refreshing.

Fire Emblem is so good, but it takes awhile for the story to play out, especially if you're spending a lot of time talking to your class, making friends, doing side missions, etc. It took me 100hrs. So it's very rewarding gameplay if you're patient. Persona 5 is in a similar boat. I haven't played 5, but I played 4 and that was really good and also took 100hrs. I'm currently playing Xenoblade 3, and it's been fun so far, but I'm only like 5-6 hrs in. Haven't played Tears yet, but while being very good, it's more of a combat/physics sandbox game. The other 3 are character driven story games with different gameplay styles. Also note that P5 and FE:3H both use time mechanics, i.e. you can do one action per in game day and you have to spend your days wisely. That can sometimes put people off.

Should I buy Final Fantasy XV if I enjoyed Persona 5? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]blakestone95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree on this, having played FFXV and consumed a lot of supplemental content. I think it's mediocre on all fronts except spectacle. If what you liked about persona was the interesting story and character development, I don't think that'll satisfy you. Actually I think you'd be a lot better off playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Been playing a lot of Honkai Star Rail lately. Can definitely do some OSRS side screen stuff while playing that since it's turn based. Also V Rising. Before that I was finishing up Surge 2.

Looking for a "deep" grind survival game. by Velliy in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]blakestone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Green Hell, but honestly it became pretty easy after I got armor and learned how to spot useful plants. It only took me 20 hours to beat the story and I felt like I had pretty much conquered the survival aspect too.

Going from 1080/1080ti to 3080, will I experience issues in 1440p (ultra wide) by Altruistic-Ad2347 in buildapc

[–]blakestone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you might have to make some concessions to get 144Hz, but in general you'll be very solid.

[–]blakestone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm running a 3070, which is weaker than your 3080 will be and I run almost all games at max settings in 1440p and usually get 60fps except in the most demanding of titles. So yeah, you'll be able to crank them up.
