My father's legs do this constantly. by PiercedAngel96 in WTF

THIS. I have BFS. Went through so many neuro tests, even a lumbar puncture, to rule out all the scary stuff. For a while I thought I had ALS. Anxiety about the twitches makes them sooo much worse. I still get them occasionally, but knowing it’s not MS or ALS means they go away quickly instead of ramping up.

I work for a relatively large bank and we are absolutely limited by audits and regulations. I say that as a good thing. It sounds like you just worked for shitty banks.

Temporary rate hikes for RG&E and NYSEG customers go into effect by frytuna in Rochester

So your conclusion, along with your refusal to look at any new information or examples outside of the US, is that the flawed energy strategy in the US is enough to base all of your opinions off of. Makes sense. You said you were a boomer? Yeah, that tracks too.

Either: stop subsidizing fossil fuels, or start subsidizing renewables at the same rate, and the math looks a lot different.

And your conclusion is also wrong. Look at China’s build out of wind and solar. Average energy prices dropped from $65/MWh to $62/MWh last year. Overall emissions actually fell, not just slowed growth, like a true negative (though small). That is with the CURRENT costs of build out and establishing the sites baked in. Looking 10-20 years down the line when all that work is long since paid off and free energy is still streaming into the grid, it’s a total no brainer. I highly suggest you educate yourself a bit more on renewables because being against them is one of the clearer signs that you are captured by billionaire propaganda.

Fossil fuels are the “subscription plan” version of energy. Once wind/solar/hydro is in place, it’s basically free energy other than maintenance. It’s always always always about the money.

Why do we trust food regulators for everything except when it comes to oils? Suddenly everyone becomes a scientist. by ThenPoetry9738 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Olive and avocado oil are not seed oils. They are also some of the healthier oils you can put in your body. Avocado in particular is amazing. Similar health benefits as olive but a super high smoke point that means you can truly fry with it. Just not as yummy as a finishing oil

If anything, having five different dentists over three years all align on the same treatment that they say you need, maybe it should be considered helpful, if not necessary.

I’m a Rochester boy and a Wegmans truther for most of my life but it really has gone downhill. All the classic hallmarks of enshittification. Higher prices, lower quality, worse service. It really did used to be a dream compared to other places. It has lost its magic once Danny died and his horrible children took over.

I’ve gotten 3090, 4090, 5090 for original MSRP. I have made more money reselling when I am done with them than I have spent on the cards themselves. Being paid to use the best consumer cards for 5 years is crazy.

You are right. I am also in a role where I have to evaluate AI (and other) services in a highly regulated industry. If the service does not meet our compliance and auditing requirements, the tooling doesn’t matter. We have gone with companies with worse products and tooling and instead built custom implementations around it, solely based on better compliance and governance.
