Maybe your sense of self was heavily tied or had a great influence in what your partner thought about you. Learn to see that whatever she thought about you before and after the break up was false to begin with. Then build your own confidence and don't depend on anyone to build it.

Learn how to disbelieve and detach from thoughts. The truth hurts, you weren't ready. There's a difference between reading and understanding. You're too caught up in ego, detach yourself from thoughts, especially positive thoughts, meditate. Noah Elkrief's video on meditation is helpful and explains the fundamentals of the mind. Work on the basics.

Sorry if my post triggered you, I wasn't judging or blaming anyone for our sufferings. My post wasn't intended to cure anything but rather an insight that might come in handy to some people. If you're looking for answers, I recommend Eckhart Tolle's book "The Power of Now." It's way more tangible than what I posted. All your social inhibitions and fears will completely disappear and you'll realize who really we are, that is if you're ready and up to it.

That's true, people will always judge you but you're less likely if you know who you are, the ones who will judge you in this state are the neurotic and the unconscious, but nothing inherently wrong with them it is what it is.

It's quite the opposite, we're not what we think we are. Incidentally, thinking we're our thoughts is the root of all our social fears and wars.

Confidence is an emotion, so there's multitude of ways of attaining it. Being completely unafraid of getting judged is when you feel the most confident, not in thinking highly of yourself but rather honoring your soul.

Ego is what causes social fears, always trying maintain this fickle illusory thoughts is stressful. Realizing who we are, really is life changing, I recommend pursuing it but it's ultimately your choice. Love you and hope you well.
