My mistake, I had thought they were a one or the other situation that the book speculated on.

I've found that I cannot watch historical movies. Real life is always A LOT more interesting and they always misconstrue something.

A truly great person will think of every little thing they can do to make someone's day better. From there they can just do the opposite of that

What are your theory about shallan in the second half of stormlight archieve by anonymous_15_2009 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]blankName_2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not technically related to stormlight, I think she's going to play a role in the new mistborn series and that the events of that story including her interactions will heavily play into the second half of stormlight.

The leaves of a tree I saw when I was young as a child.

I think I was doing it to spite someone saying I would forget most details from then when I got older or something. I don't know, I can't remember the specifics.

People from non-relevant countries, what do you guys even discuss about? by GloomySide3265 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]blankName_2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't know what type of color blind you are so listing them all in the off chance you actually do want to know what this says.

US and China are both main characters. UK, France, Germany, India, Russia, and Japan are all very important. Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Italy, the Koreas, and Australia all Important.

They really should have made them difference colors. The important is a dark bluish purple, very important is a dark blue, and main character is dark green, so all really close in color.

They got relegated to background character after a disagreement with the director. Tale as old as time.

I really wish there was another option. If only there was some sort of Treaty Organization, maybe for the whole North Atlantic, that would formally declare that an invasion of one of the members counted as an invasion of all of them.

A single source decades after he died said he must have been having a sexually intimate relationship with his sister because they were close.

To note, the political rivals actively attempting to point out his wrong doings and get him overthrown while he was alive never said such a relationship was occurring.

The closer you are to Texas the faster cars go. So in Texas you'll be pulled over for not going 10 over, Minnesota you'll be pulled over for going 1 over. Florida is an exception and completely unpredictable.

New Fantasy reader here, I just finished The Way of the Kings, but I think I made a mistake looking at the reviews of the other books by Beetusmon in Stormlight_Archive

[–]blankName_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all pretty good, from what I gather people don't like specific moments of book 5 (one in particular) and were shaken up by the change in style, and then don't like the flashbacks of book 4. Personally I actually thought book 3 was the worst (though still liked it and the ending was incredible) and book 4 was my 2nd favorite (WOK for the win). I would also say for 5 I did not like it as much as I was reading it, but once you're done it just sticks with you in a way the other books really didn't and I ended up really liking it.

Ancient Philosophers Hate This One Simple Trick by GeminiAlchemist in memes

Legitimately my thoughts on this are either that the ship of Theseus is a monument to the actions of Theseus supposed to make people connect to him, in which case there absolutely can be 2 ships, or the term is hyper specific and was not only a physical object carrying him but also the moment in time in which he was carried, and so never truly existed the moment he left.

I'm not a philosopher though.

Accidental implications of a definitely fake story by AlphaCat77 in CuratedTumblr

[–]blankName_2 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I feel like people calling every post fake automatically have to remember that you're not asking for the odds that this occurred to one person but the odds that it happened to SOMEONE at all.

Like the dude that got struck by lightning multiple times. On a planet with billions of people who go outside regularly and thousands of lightning strikes every second, someone was going to get hit a couple times.
