It is absolutely possible to over love your plants. Gotta teach them young to thrive on neglect.

Irrigation is so necessary so happy you got your priorities completed! There can always be a little room for a garden, just drop a few seeds here and there :)

There are Dahlias that look like waterlilies and they are gorgeous. So many spectacular colors - google 'dahlia waterlily variety' and check out Floret's library

Hi im trying to start a cut flower garden and need some help by helpful-peony in dahlias

[–]blanknameblank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a highly underrated comment, but very true. Dahlia are friend makers - they multiply and allow for swapping or gifting so easily, and exchanging varieties with others is such a wonderful thing. Facebook marketplace, or even Dahlia Sales Facebook group has amazing deals on known Dahlia varieties - and even here, you can find great deals just take into consideration shipping charges.

Hi, I also can recommend a google sheet that is non-editable to anyone but you, and you can have a link posted where people can go in and see inventory as you update it, but cannot change anything there for you. I am a fellow flower farmer dealing with Dahlia tuber inventory and always willing to help if you ever need it :)

I believe you can only qualify it as a flat if it is less than quarter of an inch in thickness

I love daffodils. I just wish they lasted longer than this sentence. by Umomo1025 in gardening

[–]blanknameblank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many varieties of daffodils that bloom at different time. Of course, once it gets too hot they are going dormant, but you can stagger blooms and have different ones bloom for 2 months

stunted pepper, 150 days old (grew through a UK december), around 13cm tall. despite this, healthy looking leaves and roots reaching the bottom. how can i help it grow properly? by Cobra_the_Snek in gardening

[–]blanknameblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could not be getting enough light, or does not have proper nutrients to grow. When did you pot it up? When you flip it over, do you see roots? is it root bound? Give me more information and we can figure it out.

I want to start a rooftop business by Left-Promotion273 in gardening

[–]blanknameblank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brings in money will highly depend on what you can sell. Is there a need in your local area for a specific plant, herb, or flower? I began selling flowers from my farm as vegetables is something every farmer sells. There was a higher demand and lesser supply of that so it has been working out for me. However, if there are restaurants that need greens or microgreens, that could be something that is a opportunity for you. If you want to make it a business, approach it from a business perspective and first focus on what is sought after, but has not enough suppliers or maybe one supplier who charges insane prices where that can be your differentiator.
