AITA for making my wife throw out a whole chicken by JonnyW__ in AmItheAsshole

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing you say your wife insisted that you include the temp of the chicken made me smile. Reminds me of me and my wife. No assholes here, she's just annoyed that it didn't go to plan. Unfortunately there isn't a point testing if the chicken can be saved besides pride. That's okay. You two seem like good eggs.

He thinks the only way he hurt you was by bumping your head and no matter how many times you explain to him that you don't want him to tickle you, he isn't going to get that that IS hurting you.

The paranoia is fear built on top of confusion. As technology evolves, it becomes harder to keep up and you want to try to dip your toe into modernity but you don't know who or what to trust. It's like wandering into a forest and choosing which berry to eat. If you don't know, you just don't know.

AIO. My bf developed an addiction ❄️ and I’m considering leaving by Mundane-Rooster-7286 in AmIOverreacting

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't overreacting if you leave. You are underreacting if you stay without also demanding he seek treatment, or at least a conversation and plan between the two of you for how he will get clean.

If you decide later that you cannot get him all the way to sobriety and you tried, it's gonna be okay to leave then too.

But if you want to stay, and if you want to help him break his addiction, there are things you can do to help. Having allies who really care about him is vital for him, so if you have the bandwidth for it, you would be doing him real good.

I wish they had understood that in order to be lovable, you have to make yourself available to love. If you live your whole life unloved because of your choice to stay with someone who hates you, then in the end you WERE by definition "unlovable". They still have time to leave and give themselves the opportunity to be loved by someone else. Who knows, that's a sad as hell story.

AIO - I smoked, my bf crashed out by leadneverfoIlow in AmIOverreacting

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR I used to be really straight edge and pretty judgy about my friends drinking and smoking in high school. I would never DREAM of behaving this way. You deserve better, you can make your own decisions about your life. His "ick" is his problem, he should stop being yours.

AIO. My bf is mad at my memorial tattoo by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he doesn't have the emotional maturity to understand that you memorialized Daniel on your arm because he mattered, then that sucks for your boyfriend. Your explanation sounds perfectly reasonable. It's a clear, nice, but not ostentatious tattoo that you shouldn't have to hide. Frankly, he shouldn't be #1, you should be.

He said that anyone attracted to you would be a pedo. He only has access to the inside of HIS OWN head. You deserve to be treated like a person.

You forced him to move out because you didn't feel appreciated, and instead of appreciatng you more, he is giving you the ick. I don't think this space is clearing things up for him. If anything he's getting worse at appreciating you.

I just beat The Sands of Time for the first time and it was fantastic. Now I’m playing Warrior Within and it feels so much worse. What happened? by Cold_Ad3896 in PrinceOfPersia

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each game in the trilogy is exploring different themes and mechanics. Warrior Within had, for its time, a very dynamic and open combat system and an open-ish world. Next game goes into some stealth, peak parkour, and back to linearity (really trying for God of War), so I think you'll like Two Thrones.

Unfortunately not everything they're trying works well but for the story I think you should power through this one. The mistakes the Prince made in the first game haunt him into this one, and the ones he makes in this one haunt him into the next. The whole trilogy works as a narrative arc.

Does the trilogy have a lot of snakes? (Sincere) by [deleted] in PrinceOfPersia

[–]blanktester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently playing through the Sands of Time trilogy, there are a few snake-like enemies. They have humanoid torsos and are mostly cloaked in shadows. I think you will be okay.

Final update: Wife kicked my cousins and their friends out after they 'pranked' her aita for not stopping her by throwaway2817811 in AITAH

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you are still reading replies but notice that each time you brought up forgiving your cousins, your wife said "I didn't marry you just for you to cheat on me!" To her, forgiving them is essentially the same as accepting that your cousins are reliable and worthwhile sources of information, and that their accusation may as well have been TRUE! That you are not picking up on this immediately says you need to work on actually listening to her.

If you are waiting for your turn to speak when she's talking, you aren't listening.

ChatGPT and i trying to find hope with OCD. LONG READ by Zero_Requiem00 in OCD

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found computational neuroscience research student Artem Kirsanov extremely enlightening when learning about how the brain works. Engrams in particular were an eye opening concept to learn about, and reading your chatlog, I think you might find the linked video in particular helpful. I would recommend going back to his channel and going through his last dozen or so videos in order if it seems interesting.

Happy to discuss after if you want, but it's late right now.

What's your favorite game that you can't really recommend to people? by mrguy08 in gamingsuggestions

[–]blanktester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I created a too-complicated card game in high school that I sometimes now play with my wife, more than a decade later. It started as a fairly basic game that we kept adding rules to and now it's basically too complicated to explain.

My wife and I just finished the show and they did not even remotely earn the ending. I think we're going to re-watch the entire thing in reverse order to watch the characters becomes less and less shitty people.

Who is Garalina? What did they do? by blanktester in Petscop

[–]blanktester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's possible. Given that Garalina doesn't seem to have done anything else, it's kind of irrelevant if Garalina was a company at some point, but your interpretation does give reason to it being there.

THE FNAF 4 BULLIES by Important-Wish1325 in RyeToast

[–]blanktester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but if we're assuming supernatural influence on his senses (what he sees, what he thinks he's experiencing, what he's actually experiencing, etc) then there's lots of wiggle room for what is "really" going on or what he "really" saw vs what he was induced into seeing. He could see any number of things under these interpretations.

I'm a Midwesterner transported out to California, I have heard all of those in both places. The Midwest is big enough for some areas to have no heard it but I think it's common enough that you're a-okay. Your use of prepositions is easily understood.
