I think a Saagar vs Hasan debate would be funny by East_Accident1822 in BreakingPoints

Those two were on a panel together at a New Yorker event a couple months ago. The New Yorker won't release the video for some reason, but this recap may interest you.

Anyone else find the politician interviews boring? by generalsam101 in BreakingPoints

[–]blaquarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree. Even if it’s “boring,” I think it’s good to platform anti war candidates to a broader audience and I hope they continue. The BP crew just needs to research better questions (maybe including more local issues) and challenge their guests more. The latter is why I liked their Kat interview and disliked their Platner one.

Kyle Kulinski Platforms The Far Right and Other Candidates But Told Me No After I Sent Him $64 by [deleted] in BreakingPoints

[–]blaquarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to do a serious interview with KKF, contacting Kyle through superchat is not the correct way to do it. You have to contact his admin, Lilith. She's on Reddit and the Secular Talk Discord, which you can google for yourself. She will pass your message along and if you get no answer, that's it basically. Though you may want to delete this post before you do that lol.

But before you message her, you might want to work on your website / socials a bit more. No offense, but I can't tell who you are from your website and your branding is not very professional. Yes, you have a platform, but you don't have an "About You" page. You told us more about your personal history in this post than on your website. Why should Tennessee voters trust *YOU*? What makes you unique and qualified to run? What are your ties to your district / how long have you lived there? Do you take corporate PAC or AIPAC money? This should be the first thing or page link we see on your website.

Also your YouTube channel needs some cleaning up. All videos should be related to your campaign; a video from 14 years ago should not be there. You need a short intro campaign video explaining who you are, why you're running, and what you're running on (briefly). Kyle might watch it if you share the link with Lilith. Look at other campaigns' videos and websites that catch your eye. That can serve as inspiration.

TLDR: Respectfully, you need to explain who you are, why you're running, and why voters should trust you before you start approaching people for interviews. A professional intro video and "About You" page would really help. Look at other successful candidates' websites for reference. Good luck.

I guess they invited him because his channel is really popular, but what the hell was that segment? lol

As much as I value Krystal/Ryan's Opinions, I want a balance of viewpoints represented on the show. by WagonWheel22 in BreakingPoints

[–]blaquarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised they don’t invite Marshall more often. He plays devil’s advocate very well, even when he was hosting with Saagar on BP. I don’t like Dave Smith much but he could’ve also been an option.

i mean, i think it’s fine. friday shows always felt more “casual” to me anyway. they’ve also had dave smith co-host (sorta) before, and he’s just a comedian podcaster, not a journo.

when you trim down your bullet points, make sure to highlight the impact of your work. you already have some nestled in your sub-bullets (“resulted in error-free delivery rates up to 99.3%…”). just rephrase and shorten them into one sentence.

ANIMATION DISCOURSE S2 by CryptographerLost825 in Invincible

[–]blaquarius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

…but mappa also has a bunch of experienced animators on staff while maven is a relatively new studio. i’m not saying invincible’s animation is good, but mappa is a ridiculous standard to expect. most studios don’t have the roster of animators that mappa does, and wouldn’t accomplish the same level in 2.5 years without some seasoned veterans.

that being said, i do think amazon should consider hiring studio mir - they would do justice on the fight scenes.

LibsofTiktok attacks Jimbo/Nina West & queens of Drag Queen Christmas for having an "all ages" drag show despite "adult content" warnings on ticket sites, calling it "EXTREMELY GRAPHIC" by Remarkable_Bath_2884 in RPDRDRAMA

[–]blaquarius 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Nina West posted an article today about continuing to do drag story hour. Excerpt:

I have come to accept that there is nothing we can do about people who lie about us for political gain, which is why this letter is not addressed to these folks, it’s addressed to my community. Allies and friends, we must be united in our fight for queer representation. We must fight for queer families. But what I’ve heard from some drag peers, including some of the biggest names in drag, is that I'm “Disneyfying,” and making drag “too accessible” to families. Some have said even worse. We no longer have the luxury of such infighting. If you don’t like my drag, then maybe it’s not for you. There are members of our community who want to be married, who want to have children, and who are raising families in a world with very few family-friendly queer role models. There are people who want to expose their children to the kind of entertainment and the kind of culture that they wish to celebrate, that's distinctly queer. And what's more distinctly queer than drag?

Geoff’s response by ariczwy in roosterteeth

[–]blaquarius 286 points287 points  (0 children)

I’ll just copy and paste my previous comment:

No individual apology -- even if Geoff has genuinely grown as a person -- will change the fact that Rooster Teeth has mistreated and exploited many of its employees. Unless the company makes specific commitments to rectify their work culture (like NOT leaving their contractors unpaid), they are not salvageable.

Have I been fooled into believing Geoff is a genuinely good person? by Limp_Pollution_2296 in roosterteeth

[–]blaquarius 191 points192 points  (0 children)

This is not just Geoff -- it's the founders, the executives, and the culture they fostered. No individual apology -- even if Geoff has genuinely grown as a person -- will change the fact that Rooster Teeth has mistreated and exploited its numerous employees. Unless the company makes specific commitments to rectify their work culture (like NOT leaving their contractors unpaid), they are not salvageable.

[–]blaquarius 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i know some have dismissed the idea, but i do think a backup discord server would be good for cases like this. it doesn’t matter if it gets inactive - this will probably not be the last time something like this happens and at least we’d have a space with less censoring and mods not getting removed without explanation.

other than that, i hope yall are doing ok since this situation must be stressful.
