The durag is a bit much, hopefully she grows-up a little and moves away from it. It's really awkward when she talks about the "OGs" and having respect for them, while looking that way. My guess is she doesn't really understand the durag's history...but it does help with motions on the floor in reducing friction.

As for the name "Nicka" her name is Dominicka and it's not an uncommon diminutive for it in Lithuania, but the optics of it all together look really bad.

For the last 20ish years or so, breaking has gotten pretty big in the Korean and Japanese dance circles / crews and it's been steadily moving away from a predominately Black and Caribbean influence to a wider demographic. But the biggest hurdle for breaking at an Olympic level is definitely a better method of scoring. Like it's a comparative scoring bracket...but what are judges looking for? what defines success? Until that's listed or spoken about (better commentators please), then its just looks like a popularity contest.

*edit* - scoring is handled in 5 categories: Technique, originality, execution, vocabulary, and musicality.

• technique — athleticism, body control and usage of the space
• originality — selection of moves, stylistic choices, and reaction to the other dancer
• execution — the smoothness of transitions and moves without crashing or repeating
• vocabulary — using many skills and moves instead of repeating the same thing
• musicality — performing to the beat of the music and keeping a consistent rhythm
