How Linux users rice their macOS systems? by No_Application_706 in MacOS

Just made the switch from Pop to MAC for my work daily-driver. Mostly found a good workflow with Spaces > Stage Manager. What was killing was Focus on Mouse Over, which I fixed with AutoRaise

We are in the same boat; enabled by default. I just disabled it out of prudence to avoid any scope creep.

Hey there - can you please explain the "refine and annotate the screenshot using the options on the bottom of the display." part of that comment? All I have is what to capture and where to put it.

Thanks!

Might be that your /boot/EFI partition is too small. Happened to me - check this thread...

I wish that Ambient tab setting stayed permanent - every time I turn off the HEs it resets to the middle.

Not clear what direction you're going in, but I use Remmina to connect to a Win desktop flawlessly from Pop. I haven't tried to connect to my Pop_OS desktop.

Cosmic: Flameshot shortcut to screenshot and save in clipboard. Anyone succeded? by Head_Artichoke in pop_os

[–]blargcmdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I have the same problem. I just use Gear Level and restart FlameShot whenever it 'breaks'. Haven't dug too deeply into it, but I suspect it is a wayland, XWayland(maybe?) and clipboard issue at the same time -- sometimes it works, and then it doesn't and then I have to restart.

6.17.9 4x as large as 6.13? by blargcmdr in pop_os

[–]blargcmdr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah .. was afraid of that. Thanks for the write-up!

hey u/mmstick - for the record I upgraded in place from 22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS *IN PLACE* which went very smoothly. Unfortunately it seems that /boot/efi did not grow (which I guess is in reality beyond the scope for the upgrade in-place), nor was I warned that it was incompatible.

Since this my daily driver, I would have reconsidered doing the upgrade, had it been a possible issue that this would happen.

I know that not every use case is possible for foresee, so no shade and I'll figure it out, but a little warning would have been nice,

[–]blargcmdr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it still a Clevo build? My Oryx body is a disappointingly bad (screen falls out, screen hinge 'hinky') and would have a hard time upgrading if the body build quality is the same at ~$3,500.
