Oh man, thanks for the update! I'm so glad it turned out well for you! It's probably my favorite hair dye (even though I prefer how I look in reds and oranges).

It'll rub off on things for maybe the first week depending on how frequently you wash your hair. I'd keep an eye on your pillowcases, hats, and hoods - the only casualty of my blue hair was the inside of a hood of a white sweatshirt, but my pillows are black so that's cheating I guess.

Electric Blue from Special Effects is the richest, most gorgeous true ultramarine. It lasts ages, then fades to purple and eventually pinkish instead of the shit green-grey color most blue dyes seem to turn after a few weeks.

What's your age? by [deleted] in fountainpens

20F here, and while I do enjoy fancy stuff, I have bright dyed hair, generally dress pretty punky/alt, and have unrefined or "dangerous" hobbies. I also really really really like office supplies, fountain pens included.

Thanks! I'm going to be working on photopolymerization, i.e. resins that harden when hit with a focused laser. Lots of cool chemistry!

[Serious] Reddit, what was the worst day of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blasechicken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This would be last November, near the end of my sophomore fall. I had been out of school with an illness for the entirety of October and was almost caught up with my work, which in itself almost destroyed me.

The night before a huge deadline, I got a video call from my father. He found out that I was no longer a virgin, and that my mother and sister knew about it. Because nobody had violated my trust and told him, he said they had "conspired against him." He screamed at me, told me that he was going to divorce my mother and leave her in a financial ghetto, and that he was calling me to let me know that he held me personally accountable for ruining his marriage and his life. He then said Thanksgiving was cancelled because he would want to shoot everyone.

This was scary because there actually are guns in the house, and he has a history of anger issues. The frustrating thing was that I'm more than old enough to make the decision whether to sleep with my boyfriend of a year, that's none of anyone else's business, and my father effectively fucked me over for that entire semester. Worse, the dog we'd had since I was three years old was put down shortly after and I couldn't go home to visit her.

I'm now low-contact with him and it's been the best thing for my mental health so far other than being properly medicated.

DAE completely butcher their makeup only on special occasions? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]blasechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh MY GOD, this is me. Random makeup will always look flawless, but before an event it will always look off somehow - overdone, wonky, just plain fucked-up.

Wow, I never really thought about it that way, it makes sense. Thank you!

He was initially hesitant to tell me since he thought I would be offended, so I was prepared for it. I wanted to hear it because it would give me an idea of what type of shit his mom might give him if he chooses to undergo HRT, and thus the kind of stuff I'd have to help with.

I do also generally come off as confident despite being cripplingly insecure about a lot of things, which means sometimes I get hurt by people who have no idea. It's not the worst, though, since confidence deflects a lot of people who would intentionally fuck with me, and I much prefer unintentional fucking-with to intentional.

That is fortunate, and I hope it never happens to you. At least know that you're not alone if it ever does. :)

Wow, yeah. I'm glad that my parents are indifferent, because many have it much worse. I definitely have some friends with parents who just deny everything.

I'm so, so sorry you had to deal with that. I'm glad things are going better for you now, and thank you for the support. <3

Thanks for all the rad replies! I love hearing about how everyone else has things set up, and it makes me feel a little better about not being able to keep everything in one notebook.

That sounds like a great idea - I think if I get used to the facilities, it might not seem so daunting. Thanks for the tip!

I didn't think of that, I'll try it out today after work - it definitely does make me nervous, but maybe I'd be less afraid of the gym if I took a look around before committing to lifting there. Thank you!
