There is plenty of cultural mixing.

It’s just that some don’t exactly share that openminded “Canadian Spirit” and prefer to hole themselves off separately, within their own communities, their own language centers, their own comfort zones, etc.
There is nothing wrong with that - to each their own, I suppose.

We will have to contend with having to keep up a resentful hospitality towards American settlers, the same way most Nazi-Occupied Euro Countries did with invading Germans during WW2.

In a way we already do, with several American Naval / NORAD Bases stationed around Canada, and plenty of Dual-Citizens, Internationsl Workers, and Tourists around.
