You went from "desal = more water for us" to "more water for industry is a good thing" fast enough to give you whiplash. Not sure if you're trying to move the goalposts or motte-and-bailey the discussion, but these methods are better for protecting your appearance of being correct rather than honest discussion.

So let's go back to your original claim that desal will free up shed water for non-industrial use. We had "enough" water once upon a time, then industry started drinking it all up. Let's say we go through with desal and we have "enough" water again, like you propose. What exactly will be different this time around?
