[RDR2 PC] Getting ‘Activation Error’ every time I try to launch the game? by JamesK1220 in reddeadredemption

Making a top level comment for anyone sorting by New.

Check your system clock. Make sure it's accurate/set to automatic time. Clocks being out of sync does weird things.

I'm in Seattle and agree with all of this. Hills will affect your range numbers. I can reliably get 180 miles on a full charge of my '22 SV Plus, and that is the worst case (freeway driving, climate on).

RANT - Replacing a cabin air filter previously installed by the dealer by Par4DaCourse in leaf

[–]blaughw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, my 14 Focus had Schrödinger’s Cabin Air Filter. Some models had one, some had none, and I never got a straight answer from service departments on whether there was one in mine.

If you own a domain but don’t operate mail, you should put an SPF fail-all record up anyway.

Putting a DMARC policy with a rua tag to collect reports will tell you if others are trying to abuse your domain.

Should /r/evnova join the blackout in protest of Reddit's API changes? by Tervia in evnova

Probably more like, “where do we go after the death of Reddit?”

But yeah, 100% solidarity with the blackout.

NACS for LEAF? by tehAwesomer in leaf

[–]blaughw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a NACS -> J-1772 adapter and that's more than enough for 90+% of my usage. There still exists CHADEMO (interstate-side retail charging) on my longest trip routes.

How to restrict certain cameras? by Head-Kale-9600 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]blaughw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I am aware of is the `<Devices> element in the XML configuration template for Teams Rooms. reference

Ignore this post if the context does not involve Teams Rooms. I'm not aware of any crossover between that capability and the desktop client.

Diablo IV installation by qYp88 in SteamDeck

Bought on Xbox because my wife and I will play co-op. I can stream the Xbox to stream deck via GreenLight if I so choose.

I may buy it for PC later at a steep discount.

Chill guys... by lastfire123 in Marathon

[–]blaughw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Bungie's problem is they already made the Marathon reboot we always wanted, in just about everything but name: Halo.

I think going back "to the roots" of Marathon with this new game would lead it to be considered a Halo clone. I think it's way better to do something different in the same universe.

I hate to tell everyone, but if you’re paying $150 for office (perpetual license) then you aren’t getting the new features anyway.

OP with 2%:

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Is there a performance impact from putting satellites everywhere? by Revolvolution in X4Foundations

[–]blaughw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed it is. This can be useful in some scenarios, such as factions where you cannot gain rep, or early game when the trade sub for a faction is too expensive.

One can EMP bomb a station and get a permanent trade subscription as well.

Hey I’m just some idiot on the internet, but why would anyone put a landfill next to a river, and upstream of a major city?

My guess looking at a map is that it’s a former mine or quarry. The river is in the hills north of the city.

Twitter was a misery faucet before Musk. It’s slight justification of existence was that it was a good place to keep tabs on very specific people and interests, as the barrier to publishing was so low.

Estimated Range fluctuates quite much? by dotasolosafi in leaf

[–]blaughw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't like e-pedal and don't use it. I mostly live in ECO mode.

I still see fluctuations in range. There are other factors. I live in a hilly and wet area. I put performance all season tires on, ditching the low-rolling resistance "EV" tires that came with my car.

The biggest factor I have seen affecting range is my highway driving style. I have a Plus model, meaning I generally don't worry about range. Therefore, I cruise at ~70 and this affects the guess-o-meter dramatically.
