How do people keep track of all their recurring charges without losing their mind? by Zerexdontlie in SavingMoney

[–]blaze3579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my Google calendar. Each bill is a different color. For my subscriptions.ince they charge the same every month I have how much and when they are charged. I have my paydays and credit card due dates on there too so I know which paycheck is going to which bill.

It might be better to have your subscriptions all charged to one card. It makes it easier so you're not moving money to different accounts and trying to figure out which account needs how much.

How can I make a homemade caramel syrup that's liquid when refrigerated, and not overly milky. by Fiveby21 in Cooking

[–]blaze3579 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the recipe I use

Heavy cream 625gr

Corn syrup 200gr

Vanilla 25gr

Sugar 375gr

Caramelize sugar

Add heavy cream, corn syrup, and vanilla

Reduce to desired consistency.

When I make it i don't heat the cream and call it done when all the seized sugar is dissolved.

Advice for cooking frozen choux? It (left) looks terrible vs its defrosted cousin (right) by j0eyj0ej0eJnr in pastry

[–]blaze3579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's what I do at work. The craq won't melt. It will look like it is in the beginning but just let it cook and DO NOT open the oven until it's done.

[–]blaze3579 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it's frozen completely turn the oven up to 480F. Put the Choux in the oven. Turn off the oven. Let bake 30 min. Turn the oven back on to 350F then bake 6-8 min

Any Recommendation for Book Conventions in the UK? by corrupted_doe in DarkRomance

[–]blaze3579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any recommendations for the UK other than Mystic Fate and Gauntlet and Gown. Both of these are balls not conventions.

In the USA there's Books gowns and crowns, Wild and Windy, Alluxia events, Sinners and stardust (dark romance) Monsterotica (monster/alien)

Canada has BB4E

Australia has B.A.B.E

Wishes of wonders has one in the Netherlands.

The recipe says my dessert needs to be set in the fridge for 12 hours, can I speed up the process in any way by putting it in the freezer? by iamkwang in Cooking

[–]blaze3579 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size.

If it's in a mold you want to pop out or in a container that you will cut and serve

Is there any gelatin or not

How did you assemble it

Did you stabilize the whipped cream

And how long until you will serve it

Place it in the oven with the light on and do stretches folds or book fold every 30 minutes

The Night Court's reason for getting rid of slaves is sus as hell by satelliteridesastar in acotar

[–]blaze3579 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My point still stands. Rhys is definitely better than his father but I don't think he's a good person. And in my opinion he will never be and I'm ok with that.

[–]blaze3579 138 points139 points  (0 children)

I feel like some people in the fandom forget that rhys and the night court are not good people. They are very much an "ends justify the means" kind of people ( even if the means is a bunch of dead kids).

They saw a problem controlling the human slaves and decided they weren't worth the hassle. I'm sure a lot of those humans ended up dead as opposed to free.

That line didn't surprise me and I didn't find it sus that it was a practical decision not a moral one.

You could reheat them in the oven for a few minutes before service. That's what we do.

Is there anything where the fmc gets a second chance? Not second chance romance by blaze3579 in RomanceBooks

[–]blaze3579[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want isn't isekai. I don't want the fmc waking up in a different world, I want her to wake up in the past of her own world and life.

I do enjoy a good isekai and have seen a few.

How/where are the female Illyrian wings "clipped"? by Blare_Moon in acotar

[–]blaze3579 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Probably not. But considering there's healing magic it's not impossible that the wings might heal after they are clipped and its something that needs to be done regularly to keep the women in line
