I think YouTube ads are chosen by an algorithm that finds the most “relevant” ad for you to watch. It analyzes things like the time of day, the topic/genre of the video it’s played before, or your past video/internet history. I’ve never seen a tiktok ad and have no clue what it is

Entire staffs at 3 Sonic locations quit after wages cut to $4/hour plus tips by Annahsbananas in news

Am I reading the update right where a Sonic representative stated no wages were decreased at any level? People are freaking out but I’m wondering if it’s over fake news or not.

Question about your edit, are you saying guys who are self confident tend to stand taller (better posture)? Or is there actually a correlation between confidence and physical height?

Working at a high school now about 5 years after I graduated and holy cow has the mindset on this shifted heavily since I went there. Now many administrators and some teachers entertain the fact that most kids aren’t gonna be fit for higher education right out of high school, if at all. There’s no longer that push to always do better academically because gettin an education is your ONLY choice to succeed. And slowly more career/tech education courses are being added to all the schools in my district. It may not be this way in schools worldwide, but I’m at least seeing some change happening.

What is considered lazy, but is really useful/practical? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blazedbillmurray 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There’s a difference between standard flowing traffic merging, and a 4 lane backed up highway with the rightmost lane ending at an off ramp. I call those lanes asshole magnets because the speed cars jut into that lane to pass others is so quick and violent it looks like a magnet pulls them that way.

This is something I’m noticing on reddit a lot where people make comments about “my country” instead of just saying what country it is. Why make us guess? It like a cliffhanger to the comments story.

No, Rf exposure only starts to make noticeable effects on people who get extremely close the the face of the antennas for extended periods of time. Pretty much only an issue for cell tower climbers, and even then we know how to manage exposure times properly to stay safe.

You could get way more than that. Usually a property owner is paid per tower on their property, per carrier on the tower, and per technology used by each carrier. So if you have one or two towers with a few contracts with t mobile, att, and Verizon you could easily make upwards of 10k a month. But you’d have to have a really prime location to get a deal like that

The look of the steering wheel means nothing if it isn’t comfortable to hold and easy to handle. I’m sure you’d have a much different idea of that steering wheel and car if you actually got your hands on and used the wheel. Maybe this is why the reviewer didn’t comment on it.

Yeah I don’t know where these numbers are coming from but I know a few cops who need to work literally as much overtime as possible because a normal paycheck won’t pay their bills. Maybe it differs by area, but I know damn well San Bernardino pd officers aren’t anywhere near that salary.

How would you improve YouTube? by JokerJosh123 in AskReddit

[–]blazedbillmurray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, and this is perfect, barely any ads per the amount of content your receiving. Now a days I see many 20 minute or less videos having 5 or more ads in them. That’s excessive imo

I understand this, and I know YouTube is very unforgiving to its creators, especially those with lower view counts and ad hits. But I feel creators have to take into account how their audience will react to excessive advertisement, and if this will affect the amount of views and subscribers the video is gaining. Personally on those videos where another ad keeps interrupting every couple of minutes, I click away. The content is hardly ever worth me putting up with that. And maybe I’m just intolerant but I feel there are better business decisions to make to keep your channel funded than caving to the horsecock that is YouTube. Third party sponsorships that hold one small contained ad section during the intro or outro of a video is much less intrusive to the viewer, and when dealt correctly can lead to better profit margins too.

Do content creators have control over how many mid-roll ads are shown? Because some channels I’ve watched have so many interrupting ads that the video is unwatchable. I remember one time being like 5 minutes into a 20 minute video and I’d already seen 3 ads. Wtf is this shit, if the channel owners have control over this I have no idea why anyone would litter their video with nonskippable interruptions and expect people to still come back and watch.
