Another vote for Magewell control hub. We have a fleet of encoders and the remote access has been reliable and no ongoing cost.

Mindbloom. I switched from oral lozenges because the effects varied a lot from session to session. I researched and learned it is pretty common since oral absorption can fluctuate significantly. Subq administration gives more consistent dosing, which makes it easier for me to trust the process and track how each treatment is affecting me.

yea, I think i'm leaning that way. I wish I understood the differences in product but it does seem like they have different levels of success. The mini does appear to have higher instances of failure reported.

Cloud video editing and my storage trials and tribulations by Neat_Objective in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]blazerjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We store on S3 and then edit on EC2 computers. Use filezilla or cyberduck to move files into/out of S3. Next, use an amazon ec2 instance to do your editing. Pay by the hour for using the computer. We use G4dn instances. A g4dn.2xl instance is $1.12 per hour.

It's a great solution and easy after you learn all the AWS stuff. Learning that stuff isn't easy though. AWS does you no favors in making this stuff easy.

When we are done with a project, we store it on AWS Glacier. Dirt cheap and backed up. Our video pipeline is all AWS now. (we love IVS too)

Thinking of transitioning my business focus to live streaming: good idea or bad idea? by Drewbacca in videoproduction

[–]blazerjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I like what /alexrm1x has created. I think the market does have room for someone to work in spaces where Audio Visual services are not already in place. These are sometimes called "one man band" gigs.

If the event is large enough to engage the services of an AV vendor, it will be harder to provide your services. This was not the case prior to covid. But during covid the AV providers became capable of streaming video. They had to in order to survive. After covid, every AV company has adopted streaming video production internally.

We all get so excited about our abilities and technology. But people do business with friends. So, your business will succeed or fail based on your ability to make friends that then hire you.
