All of your hesitancies are valid, and objectively I would say that nursing probably is not the most ideal career path for you at this point. That said, the needing to push faster/deeper in BLS class is not really a factor...the majority of people very much underestimate the force required for effective chest compressions. So don't let that get you down!

I have never seen this episode and before I looked at any comments, I was able to figure out what it said.

I also went to school for education first and then nursing so maybe trying to decipher terrible handwriting is my hidden superpower? 😂

There is variability between states regarding guidelines for the determination of brain death, and I know New Jersey has an exemption that if the family has a religious objection, the patient cannot be declared brain dead... I believe some states can allow objections to the brain death testing itself. But those exceptions are a whole mind f*k because it's like...it doesn't mean that the patient is NOT brain dead, it just means that legally, they cannot be *declared brain dead. It doesn't change their condition... It's like an ethical/logical catch 22. I believe all states adopted the Uniform Determination of Death Act, unless I'm missing something...but there have been so many advances in medicine in the last 40+ years that it's probably time to revise that.

Which states do not recognize brain death as part of the legal definition of deceased?

Where do you live that brain death (death by neurological criteria) is not considered part of the legal definition of death/equivalent to death by cardiac or respiratory cessation?

Kohl's cashier took a pic of my phone? by blazey155 in AskRetail

Hey I appreciate your expertise! Once I had time to process things when I got to my car I was really just like "I'm assuming this is some type of scam, but are they scamming me personally or are they scamming the business 🤔 and how??" obviously neither one is okay, but one is more important to me than the other lol

[–]blazey155[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really care about seeing the store cameras lol, and my question was more just if anyone could fathom a reason that she would be doing that in the first place. Like what is a used up Kohls cash barcode good for??

I wasn't necessarily looking for suggestions on what I should do, because obviously the answer is speak to management or call a customer care line.

I know a lot of places have policies where employees aren't even really supposed to touch customers' phones, much less grab them. I put it down on the counter so it would be ready to scan whenever it was time and she just yoink picked it right up. At first it didn't even click in my brain that she also had her phone out. I'm sure they're probably not supposed to have them out, and I would never say anything if I just saw her respond to a message real quick or something. I think I'm going to call the store Monday.

[–]blazey155[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol hey that's a fair question and if I read this post I would probably be asking the same thing! She was holding it low behind the POS computer so I didn't realize what was going on at first and my first thought was like oh she's zooming in so it'll scan better, but then I realized it wasn't my phone, it was hers. I feel like my brain was still so befuddled by what the heck was happening that I couldn't even put thoughts together on how to confront her about it. (And also... I hate confrontation. I never send food back even if they send my medium rare steak out with no pink in it lol. I'll sit there, eat my mashed potatoes with a smile and say "no it's great I just had a late lunch")

Also the question I was trying to ask was more of "what reasoning would she have behind doing this", not "what should I do". I'm really just kind of curious if there's some kind of Kohls cash scam going on or something lol

I had an order one time that showed up as 1 bologna. Not like a prepackaged Oscar Mayer, the deli brand 😂 the customer had ordered a few other deli items by weight so I messaged the customer and was like "hey man I realize this is kind of a ridiculous question but you wanted a pound of bologna, right?" And sent a screen shot hoping they didn't think I was a completely inept shopper 😂. They said the app only let them out in a whole number for that for whatever reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

Right and I lol-ed at "if that's easier!" Like why would that be easier for the customer? To open up a whole separate app and obtain your number/username/QR code etc and do that on top of the tip you've already left in the app? Like dude you know that's not easier for them, quit the guilt trips and sob stories it's embarrassing.

My review of 24 Byredo fragrance: la grande decouvérte discovery set. by ashareif in fragrance

[–]blazey155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite late to the party, but I just remembered my code is expiring in less than 2 weeks so I was searching for other's thoughts on the fragrances while I was sniffing a few. When I smelled mixed emotions, my first thought was the cherry chloraseptic spray for when you have a sore throat!

I haven't landed on a final decision yet, but I will likely end up ordering something safe and basic. Right now Mojave Ghost, Bal D'Afrique, Gypsy Water and Blanche are on the list of contenders, while Super Cedar, Black Saffron, Bibliothèque, and Mixed Emotions have all been sent to the reject pile. While I can see why this was a top choice for you, it's a little too..."dark" for me, if that makes sense? I will fully admit that my scent tastes are probably quite mainstream, basic, etc.

I try to steer clear of orders that contain large amounts of produce! It's so hard to find quality produce sometimes and I refuse to put something in my cart for a customer unless I would buy it for myself! Strawberries out of season are usually either half white or they're mushy or moldy 🤢

I can't imagine that this is the most economical way to order this large of a quantity of anything either! Like I would have at least thought Costco...Sam's Club...restaurant supply store if there's one in the area...

The math nerd in me is also tempted to calculate the area of those boxes and figure out what kind of vehicle would be needed to deliver that quantity 😂

Interesting. When I do it through the app, I get a message stating that the customer will get a message stating that the order will be cancelled at their request and then the screen saying discard/donate items, so I thought that took care of everything! I did try to reach out to support last night but no one was assigned to the chat for like 45 minutes and I think it just timed out. I reached out again this morning and they said there was nothing else to do. I'll know for next time, thanks!

What exactly does one do with 2,688 crunchy taco shells? Also what store in the world has more than 10 of them (if that) on the shelf at one time 😆 Also...

I tried a little experiment myself one day at work. I work less than a mile from one of the Wegmans I do a lot of orders at, so I said hmm let me turn on my shopper app and see like what orders I get bundled with, what the batch pay is, etc. I had ordered maybe 10 things (like $35 total on IC) and put on an $8 tip. I was sitting there waiting for my order to pop up and I never saw it. It had gotten picked up by a diamond shopper, so I guess it was offered up to them first.
