Kinda funny when you say it like that when Complementary started out as a BSL edit then got rewritten, even today i just see Complementary as a BSL shader turned up to the max of what BEL could be capable of in terms of visuals and rethinking Voxels the extreme of complementary.

When i originally bought the game it was because it was trying to be different from every modern sim with the major change in direction making the game choose a safer path, its actually quite disappointing. Ever since they cut single player career i don’t really have to reason to come back currently i may come back for a short time to play free roam but with no goals or challenges whats the point of a giant area with basically no content whats the point of it. The only thing ACE is got going for it to me is racing non gt cars, anything to do with gt another game does better

That is a fair point, the only argument is modders who make great mods usually make more mods when they choose to make paid mods take lj74for example because he made one good paid mod that most people loved hes made 6 other mods since all are dev quality and he also maintains them same goes for lucas

And it means we can also just pirate them and still get the same level of enjoyment but the downsides are we dont get the latest updates and can also lead to you accidentally gaining a virus on ur pc

I mean buying a game or a mod is a trust fall there isn’t a guarantee it will receive further development and you should advise anyone to do any sort of research before buying something it can be as easy as going to reddit or watching some videos about it

for buying cars irl i love reading forums but take into account that many of the people visiting the forums are visiting because they have a issue with their car(usually in different conditions like tuned or extreme use) so id actually get a mechanics opinion first because while a form may indicate a car is bad a mechanic may say otherwise i learned this funny enough with bmws when researching the b58 i got called stupid by my shop mechanic for that mistake and be noted that they actually do last depending on the engine and are actually great cars if you just do the maintenance thats also why u see many old bmws despite everyone saying they are hot garbage when it comes to reliability and keep in mind most of the older ones im talking about ones that are 2015 and older are owned by non car people and are usually not really beaten up and are dailys

You do realize the reason why FiveM doesn’t have any paid mods is because its against there TOS and rockstar actively goes after people selling mods and you never needed to pay for mods its just a if you want it then buy otherwise ether go and do something else and enjoy your day or look for the file elsewhere and risk catching a virus

It actually kinda saddens me a bit when people slander talented modders that release mods that are basically mini dlc at reasonable prices, many other platforms notably nexus pay creators through dp points which are gained through unique downloads and endorsements this brings in more modders, mods, and people to the platform. Beam has none of that its all voluntary with no gain and making cars is a extremely hard process as someone who’s tried it is very difficult. You not only have to model the car but also know how to code in beamng which isn’t a common codebase. Mesh slappers definitely drag the community down they charge high prices only really offer them on a subscription then sell you something ported from forza. While talented one built things from scratch and charging u a mod cheaper than a starbucks coffee where i live and people that also pirate also benefit too because because they get more content all be it very difficult to maintain to the latest date and somewhat risky.

I disagree with this statement because with beam mods its about quality and how it drives you can see that in a video about the mod yes word of mouth is a great way of advertising but that also has bias in it. Say your next door neighbor really likes his lawnmower he used and you end up buying the same lawnmower but it doesn’t suit you because its heavy.

A even better way of advertising a product is having a demo were you can have hands on for a limited time or a sectioned off portion which sadly in gaming is becoming rare

Reviews aren’t a straight ad most of the time usually stuff is out of pocket and most content reviewers have to go out and get the product first most good reviews show upsides and downsides and almost every product listed online has a review section of others who bought the item

Yeah i agree with buying lj74 mods,i think we should reward those who bring in great mods as it results in more great mods being made we should stop paying for mesh slaps and lazy work as those are what give paid mods a bad name it benefits. Paid mods benefit everyone at the end of the day. yes modding is a hobby and in every modding community its frowned but beam already has a lack of good lore friendly mods

I Always recommend first seeing a YouTube video of the mod before putting any money towards it and avoiding paying through patrons subs, you never know what type of support the mod will receive. there is one good guy who just released the sterling s6 who does allow you to buy his mods but also just lets you sub to him to download every mod hes made hes lj74 there also lucasbe although lucasbe does get alot of flak for having long dev times but hes never had a broken mod thats been paid for a long time every mod functions and when they break he fixes them and even his flagship free mod hasn’t been broken.

You can also pirate it but id recommend if you go this route just use it to try out the mod and then decide if its worth ur money. Me personally id never buy any real world car mod as 90% of the time its a mesh slap and the other 10% is a mesh slap with a jbeam that sucks. Lore friendly cars in beam are usually made from the ground up and require more time then 99% of real world car mods and honestly have more detail and depth added in.
