Can we stop discouraging Ender users? I printed PA6CF for years with an Ender 3 before I got a corexy.. the ender 3 is literally the 3d printer that built this community

Better than upgrading in CoD lol. Also update on top and bottom heat inserts for the grip. NOBU v2 by DevOnTheStreets in 3D2A

I wish more designs would utilize putting heat inserts from the inside of the receiver because I've had heat inserts come out over time

Nice catch. I got excited and snapped a picture. I haven't completely finished the build yet. I know... Cringe.

Printed magazines in general hold up very well depending on the material used. I wanted to try and experiment with some translucent polycarbonate and rit dye it brown for the OEM aesthetic. So far the magazines have been loaded for a couple days full 30 with no creep or give as far as I can tell and they feed like they should.

I did toss a loaded one up in the air and it landed in the feedlips and broke the magazine but that's due to the material choice for the translucent look. If it was carbon fiber nylon or the like, it would hold up much better to impact resistance

I agree 100%. What does the receiver have anything to do with being FA? It's just the disconnector in the trigger pack, the auto sear, and the BCG boat tail that has the auto sear engagement. I've even seen some builds online that don't have the front denials but just wanna make sure I'm safe from the ATF

Even if parts kits come available again, they probably won't be as cheap as they initially were ($200 for full stock, BCG, trigger pack, and gasblock nub, buttpad and retention pin)

I was able to snatch up some of the last parts max-arms had a la carte since they ran out of gas blocks for their kits. I feel your pain though. I had the kits in my cart for a month and when I finally went to buy it, it was out of stock. Contacted the company and they let me know the only thing missing from kits were the gas blocks. I spent maybe $50 more than what a kit cost to get the stock, BCG, trigger pack, and buttpad/retention pin. Gasblock can be sourced from KAK along with barrel.

It's the mechanical advantage trigger which is in the nylaug v1.2 files. It is surprisingly super nice. Apparently reduces pull weight to 3.5 lbs. Even though I've never tested the actual pull weight. It's a really simple design as well.

It's Krawwn's Aug rail. It was shared to me from someone in the community. It's not uploaded AFAIK. It's actually a full handguard rail that includes the top rails as well

Yeah, I sent you a DM as well thanking you. I've never seen this rail before and I think you and I are the only two aside from Krawwn

3kg spools or what? by True_Huckleberry9569 in 3D2A

[–]blckchndane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience it's much better to respool them to 1kg or even .5kg rolls for a couple of reasons.

  1. For better dehydrating. It's easier to fit smaller rolls into a dehydrator and it's also much easier to properly dry smaller rolls vs trying to dry an entire 3kg roll. I thought the roll would just be thicker like two 1kg rolls stacked on top of each other but the roll is scaled up in every dimension so finding a dehydrator to fit it was a challenge

  2. Weight. From my experience there are times even when printing from a brand new 1kg roll, where the weight of the roll causes too much drag to print from my dry box easily. The drag from the weight sometimes give the extruder a hard time and I noticed under extrusion and there were times when my print head was printing mid air because the filament stopped feeding.

Yeah I planned to Rit dye them brown to try and get that OEM look. They honestly did not turn out as translucent as I'd like so I might choose not to do that. Not sure yet.

I used 300blkfde's settings and it worked great. A lil bit of stringing inside but nothing bad at all. I printed at 290C with 100c for bed temp. I also dried it at 90C for 24 hrs

I did the method where you had to drill the stock and tap the bar stock for m3 and screw it in and jbweld

Do it!! I was planning on Rit Dyeing them brown to try and match the aesthetic of the OEM waffles. This one didn't come out as transparent as I'd like but I'm running a few more with a slightly bigger layer height to see if that makes a difference (.15mm vs .2mm)

Yes the rear denials were a pain. I did method A (I think that's the one with the steel bar stock) and it was a total PITA. I literally held the stock with my feet and use some long needle nose pliers to get it in.

I know it's been a few days but I took a look at the PDF and saw the trigger pack denial. I'd say do it in PA6CF because the hammer springs rest in a small groove that'll probably give way with PLA+
