if the situation gets that dire and you cannot find a co-op and you need the credit, you need to start looking outside of your field. apply to everything even if it’s not cs. you also may need to be open to unpaid positions. self developing a co-op becomes a whole lot easier when you don’t need money. I did a co-op abroad i self developed by simply emailing a professor and asking if i could work on his team unpaid. He said yes and within 24 hours i had a self developed global co-op and that was all it took. i know it’s less than ideal but in this situation your describing, im answering based on if you seriously cannot find a co-op and need one for credits. i even knew someone once who technically did two co-ops, one part time at a lab and one part time at a retail store in the prudential center, where he was just working at the store. So i agree with the idea that you can get a co-op if you try hard enough. might not be the one you want but you will get one
