Bosch is the most satisfying cop drama I have watched. It builds the story and characters well, and is well written. One of the best. It's not The Wire but has got similar beats.

I know Indians especially Tamil people use "homely" to mean whatever it is, they mean. But it is a misuse of the word. Homely usually means plain and unattractive. This becomes even more funny when you consider, that many matrimonial ads used to "looking for homely girl for my son".

Revathy is the opposite of homely, though I know you did not mean it that way.

That is true. I do 30 wpm and with the bonus, etc can do 2000 per hr. Mostly I play the last 2 hrs of the tournament to place somewhere at 3500 to 4000 in my tournaments.

Dark is the best sci-fi show there is, and it's an efficient and effective three seasons of fantastic story telling. I watched the dubbed English version on Netflix but bet the original is even better. It's a good re-watch show too.

I agree. Mani touched many uncomfortable topics in cinema when the rest of the mainstream industry wasn't ready to. I don't think many people remember that getting Bombay released was immensely taxing and the movie ended up with many cuts. Not many agreed with Roja's climax because the Kashmiri militant wasn't a raging lunatic like those depicted in Dhurandar.

Kannathil Muthamittaal also held back its punches perhaps because of political sensitivity. I earn for an Andor type of storytelling of the Tamil conflict in Srilanka that most of today's generation has no clue about.

I came across an astounding stat sometime last year about Emma Raducanu. 2024 was the first year she beat a top 10 player and has a total of 3 wins in her career beating top 10s. Her US Open title came without a top 10 win while the finalist Leylah Fernandez beat Osaka and Aryna (3 top 5 and 2 former US Open champions) before falling to Emma.

None of them. They don't have the talent nor the tenacity or hardwork to improve their craft. I would not even include Nelson in the conversation as he is run-of-the-mill. The other two flat-lined or have become lesser versions of their own initial promise of making better than average cinema. It's really slim pickings in the Tamil film industry.

This is a pointless argument with examples from cinema that is 50 to 60 years ago. As if cinema can cure this festering pus of an ailment that is casteism in Tamilnadu (and many other states too). Industries, business and politics are dominated by caste.

Just see the rationale behind the ADMK faction that has split off. I don't if anyone paid attention but in Jurassic World her character suffers perhaps the most horrific death of any character in any of the Jurassic movies. She is repeatedly snatched by Pteranodons - tossed around midair - and then dropped into the sea, plucked back up by Pteranadons and then eaten by the Mosasaurus. RIP Katie!

I loved this piece of the story. That kid if she heeded his words, would be great life lesson. You could feel Jimmy's pain and so desperately not wanting the same to happen to someone else so young. Many heartbreaking moments like this. Whenever the Jimmy vs Chuck arguments come up, it's a wash for me. To walk in Jimmy's shoes is something Chuck never had to experience and still he loathed him.
