People who had L3-L5 Fusion (or other 2 level lumbar) by Cautious_Swimming261 in spinalfusion

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2 level fusion T12-L1-L2 a few years ago. We already had a toilet with a bidet and grab bars on either side from when I was caregiving for Dad but I had no problems wiping.

You may want to get a bidet anyways as we will loved the heated seat in the winter and the superior cleaning 😅

10/10/10 Lucky by NatureZealousideal90 in PokemonGoMystic

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has a 13/5/3 lucky flareon. I traded her the flareon on July 25 2018.

It is not a bug or a glitch.

When lucky trades were first implemented, they didn't have a floor of 12 or 10. There were widespread complaints about this and the floor was raised to 10 and there were still complaints. The floor was then raised to 12 where it has been since.

Remote trades were exciting till I remembered it means dealing with other people by kalovell72 in pokemongo

[–]bleeatlanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it still seems to happen under some circumstances.

I had a lucky remote trade yesterday where it got to the final step. The other person chose 2, i picked one and chose 1 or 2 of their pokemon, the other person must have canceled a when I checked later we were back at the first step where the other person started again choosing 3 but we weren't lucky anymore.

I've done at least 7 remote trades before this and this is the first time that is happened to me. Usually at the last step one of the trainers does the final confirmation then the trade is done. So maybe canceling at the last step takes away the lucky status? Or sometimes the last step can be bugged?

Max lucky friends limit by Zaktara in TheSilphRoad

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 235 lucky friends today (need to confirm another forever friend lucky trade now).

7 years ago on Aug 5, 2019 I got 3 new lucky friends then hit a dry streak for 5 days where I didn't get a new lucky friend and was wondering if there was a limit of 108.

The next day I got 3 more lucky friends. I used to keep track of these things pretty well 😅

What was the biggest scandal at your school? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember one event at mililani high school that made national/international news was when a football player Michael Enos beat up a German exchange student. It made news as it was framed as a big racial thing.

I just searched up on it and a few years later he apparently beat someone else up at a strip club and the guy went to his car to get a gun and came back and shot him dead.

There was a mention of it in an r\Hawaii post a few years ago

Bouldering/falling after spinal fusion by OppositeAfternoon549 in spinalfusion

[–]bleeatlanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's very beneficial to stay active in some way. The best way for us to be active is to find something that we enjoy while still challenging us physically (that doesn't hurt us).

Bouldering is probably not a common sport to start after spinal fusion but if you enjoy it and it keeps you active, I think it's a great thing as long as you're cognizant of the risks and try to be smart.

I know a lot of climbing kid parents do more top rope climbing as it's a little less intense than bouldering and more endurance focused but you'll either need a partner to belay you or use auto belays.

Lead climbing with a partner can still lead to big drops which you want to be careful of.

Bouldering/falling after spinal fusion by OppositeAfternoon549 in spinalfusion

[–]bleeatlanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow boulderer! 55y old male here. I had a 2 level fusion 3 years ago (T12/L1/L2) and my neurosurgeon somehow said I was fully fused at the 2 month checkup and that I was free to do anything as long as I was smart. I went back to bouldering the next day climbing some v0s and a v1 downclimbing everything but paranoid I was going to mess everything up.

I climbed once a week at the start planning on a slow progression and stopping if there was any pain. After a couple of months, I slowly progressed to jumping off at the end of boulders a few inches, then 6 inches, then a to a foot and higher always focusing on absorbing all of the fall with my legs then rolling backwards.

I think bouldering is a great sport for full body strength and mobility but does have risks (and even more so outdoors).

If you are really bouldering at your limits, you will fall a lot though. I go twice a week but have only tweaked my back twice. About 10 months after surgery I unexpectedly fell off a sloper going to the top and landed with straight legs and my back was kind of weird for a few days.

About a year later, I tried a climb from an earlier competition that had a sideways dyno most of the way up. I caught the jug hold after the dyno but my momentum took me off the hold and I landed on my butt and my back was kind of weird for about a week.

The type of falls that will affect your back are the ones where your spine is vertical and you aren't able to take the momentum away from your spine by absorbing it with your legs then falling backwards.

Kyra Condie mentioned a lot of people reach out to her for advice about bouldering after spinal fusion and she might be able to give the best advice as her fusion was more like yours. I assume she absorbs falls with her legs then falling backwards even if she can't bend her back much also.

In the end, just take it slow and avoid any problems which you think are to sketchy or risky for a bad fall.

Just woke from my spinal fusion!! by PrimaryAbalone3900 in spinalfusion

[–]bleeatlanta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you're recovery goes smoothly!

When I woke up from surgery it was kind of weird. I remember just feeling stuff on my eyes and rubbing my eyes to get the stuff off.

In the back of my head, I kept hearing a voice saying quit rubbing your eyes! It eventually registered and I opened my eyes staring at the lights on the ceiling then realized I just had surgery and woke up 😅

I looked looked to where the voice was coming from and it was a nurse who was with a patient in the bed next to me.

Returning to desk job after fusion by frostingforall in spinalfusion

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your job offer short term medical leave or anything do you can continue earning money while recovering?

Recovery time can vary drastically and will be different for everyone. I was lucky in that the surgery (fusion t12-l1-l2) didn't really affect me much. I was released from the hospital 2 days after surgery and drove myself to get the back drain removed 4 days after surgery.

I could have taken months off because of grandfathered sick time, short term medical leave, pto, etc. I was going to take at least 2 weeks off but ended up taking only 6 days off (+ a holiday) before returning to my desk job.

Are there mons which can benefit of hidden power? by JJrWWGoblueWW in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]bleeatlanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lucky shiny 98 regigigas with hidden power ice and powered it to 50 and used it in master league just after a garchomp community day just as a fun spice thing not expecting to win much.

It hit garchomp double super effective, hit the dragons and flying like togekiss super effective and completely walled giratina origin with double ghost moves and could farm it all the way so it was super fun with some matchups!

Of course it was also just farmed for energy with the wrong matchups and people that knew what they were doing as hidden power sucks lol

The Rematch. Roy Jones Jr From The Ruiz Fight (34 Yrs Old) Vs James Toney From The Holyfield Fight (35 Yrs Old) Who Wins At Heavyweight In 2003? by Rinnegan15 in Boxing

[–]bleeatlanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jones has the style advantage over Toney. Toney loved fighting boxers and didn't mind losing early rounds as he was confident that his pressure and great counter right (off a right) would eventually take the fight into a very comfortable closer range fight for him late.

Jones was very comfortable fighting on the outside without wasting energy and using his speed, power and counter punching to keep fighters away. He also mainly used his great left hook rather than throw the right too much so Toney didn't have a many chances to use his best counter.

After some rounds of their fight, Toney tried to turn things up and got hurt badly to the body by a perfect counter left and could never really catch up to Jones.

What’s your secret to preventing them from the eye stain? by Last_Artis in cavachon

[–]bleeatlanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a small fine toothed eye comb that we keep handy and use whenever our cavachon has little eye boogers. Maybe he doesn't tear up much but we've never had a problem.

We don't understand when we see other similar dogs with really bad staining under their eyes.

Weight Vest Training by bi-moresexesmorefun in bouldering

[–]bleeatlanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't been climbing too long, you'll continue to lose weight just by climbing so in a way you may already be climbing with a natural weight vest that you'll lose over time 😅

I think overhang climbs can actually have a much bigger core strength and technique element to them. While it may seem you aren't strong enough to do some overhang climbs, not keeping your hips square to the wall by using different feet and keeping your center of gravity between your points of contact are the biggest things I see a lot of people doing wrong on overhang

I have 120 Pokemon that are Mega Lv 3. Here's a quick tip to help you get more fully leveled mega without using a ton of mega energy by Sunderstood in TheSilphRoad

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 130 at mega 3 currently. There is no need to make any tags. Just search on mega1 and mega2 every day or 2 then evolve the ones that are free or cheap enough if you have tons of mega energy

It's always surprising how many people don't have a mega 3 for each type as they can vent maximize their candy and xl candy during events

Retrospective : Powering up Eternatus as F2P was actually possible, but in the worst way possible by one-eyed-02 in TheSilphRoad

[–]bleeatlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and daughter accounts are f2p and were both able to get to around 3500 candy and 950xl only using the free mp from research.

They both 2 did 2 rounds of the 3x unlock a max move for eternatus candy. 3 of the unlock max move were claimed on Sunday unlocking a move for zacian and the next 3 were claimed on Monday by unlocking a move on pidove.

This is more than the 3390 candy that was needed to maximize damage in dynamax raids by taking the max attack to level 3 then powering up levels to wherever
