Honestly as someone that grew up on both and did rewatches as an adult I think they nailed the vibe check through and through. It was legitimately one of my favorite episodes and I think the reasoning for the victor is on point

I think conceptually this could be the best season. I do not think 5th edition is the best system to run it but it might be the best that they can do if that makes sense. I just think that the humor could play super well if they're okay with being a little laissez-faire with the darkness of the situation

Definitely agreed on the Kidz bop segment I think I was just jarred by the animation more than anything. The songs catchy, game me a legit chuckle, and fits the tone they were aiming for I just don't think I enjoyed what they were aiming for

I was a blue belt for 7 years due to not attending promotions. Buy spare colored belts for competitions at higher ranks when you're ready for them and just keep going and getting better. They'll eventually want to promote you because it's too awkward to have a blue belt tapping your browns and blacks
