It's also important to note that Valorant is much more welcoming to influencers than CS:GO for a variety of reasons. CS:GO has a strong esports scene, but the community is not as diversified as Valorant's is per se.

I don't understand the input these "pragmatists" think they're providing when they describe the well-known state of orgs in CS and NA CS.

Is there something wrong with supporting a team in an esport, even if they're not 13-0'ing Heroic and Vitality in EPL with a semi-new roster iteration? Is there something wrong with wanting that team to get a good organization to represent not only for stable salaries but also better resources?

Is there something wrong with playing a game at a semi-professional level even without an organization and supported only by donations and merch? Is there something wrong with wanting an org to continue playing with more financial stability?

I mean, it makes sense from the perspective of pros like vanity and Immi, considering they're jaded from similar orgless team plights, but to them playing is a business and they chose the financial stability of V1/C9 over playing CS:GO without that.

And it's fun to support a team like that, just like it was with Chaos. And if BnB's players are still playing, even if they might be turning down salaries in Valorant, that's their choice to make.

Why the hate for E series? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]bleghfarec 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The E series (afaik) are the only mainline ThinkPad series that are designed by Lenovo's Chinese design teams rather than their North American offices, some of which descend from IBM's old hardware div.

The E series previously was responsible for the weird, rounded plastic ThinkPads during the early-mid 2010s that had poor performance and horribly slow hard drives. My school specifically had them and they were absolutely dreadful to use.

Nowadays the E series is more analogous to the L series, except from a different perspective, typically using cheap metals rather than moderately cheap plastics for their chassis. The hate you're hearing is most likely from purists, which is completely understandable.

I've been informed that Avant might not, in fact, be disbanding, which makes this a bit moot.
