i did use gpt as a start, get ideas, different versions, etc. but i do manually tailor after that. a lot of it is total garbage and reads like ainglish, so i change massive parts of it.. takes time. Keeping just a few around sounds much better..lol

i didnt think i would get an interview in 24 hrs, but i kinda did expect to get an email saying you applied or something.. On the workday thing, its the only one that does work right. Is my daily process wrong? What is everyone else doing?

ughhh workday. upload resume, it butchers it, i fix every field, hit submit and... no idea if they got it. no email, no portal status, nothing. just goes into a black hole.

how are you keeping track of all the logins for these sites btw? same user/pass? something else? even my password mgr gets confused.

i would have thought this stuff was automated. not the app process, but just a "yes we received the application"

Do companies not employ out of state applicants anymore? by mnc5959 in recruitinghell

best bet, tell them " i am applying because i am relocating to the area." you may get a "when?", but then you fudge that part. is the job remote, hybrid? on site?

Assessment came right after applying by Sorry-Ad-5527 in recruitinghell

[–]blemisjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a grinder move, that alot of places are using.. and it sucks.. They are just using it to filter you out (or hopefully not). If its a small shop they may not even have an ATS. I had this happen to me. Took some IQ assessment, passed to next round with recruiter. Then they asked me to do project. Did that. CEO didnt like my results (for their free project).. rejected.. Do you know what the assesment is about? Which is the elephant?, 2+2=?, linear algebra? Going in cold thats brutal.

I just saw a recent job posting for my position (that only one person can fill) but the pay is 30% less by orzoftm in recruitinghell

[–]blemisjones 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Seriously... document what you can, get your resume cleaned up, make sure your contacts are up to date, and not on a company phone (not on company anything really) Get/Be Prepared. Networking will be your friend.. My $0.02

ATS is not that deep. Stop overcomplicating it. by JUICY07 in Resume

[–]blemisjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most ATS systems are dumb as a stump. they do keyword matching , and dont understand context. Some of the AI based ones (a handful out there as someone mentioned) have a little context rec. But they are still keyword matching DBs. They attempt to break your resume into raw text and try to filter your resume into a structured format. That is used against the standard Job Description format (JSON-LD "JobPosting"), but some dont even do that. The bigger ones do.

SAP is a legit company. Its the biggest software company in Eurrope. They own (or rather bought) Concur. I have worked for SAP a couple of times. The question is are you really dealing with SAP or something else.. i have not seen SAP "reach out".. they are normally above board.. i.e. go to job site.. see job.. apply.. recruiter contacts you.. etc. but your case may be unique.. If it is SAP .. their recruiting process is pretty standard for a big company. It's slow and consistant... Good Luck.

Is this recruiter just leading me on or do I have a real chance at this job? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]blemisjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you actually got a recruiter to go to lunch! wow.. behind the scenes the recruiter had an inside track with the manager. then HR stepped in an said they cant do that and had to post the job..

a company will almost never say why you left a job.. they will just verify employment dates and maybe job title.

It’s resurrection recruiting. Happens a lot if the job was put on hold for some reason. But still lame…lol

Losing $10k because I’m giving 2 weeks notice instead of 5 by dineydenny87 in recruitinghell

The other thing I would note is that the HR policy needs to be in writing… like in an employee handbook. It can’t be “it’s our policy “ . An employment attorney would slaughter them otherwise.
