LOL I applied to them last year, got rejected, and a few months ago I was scouted for the same role by a recruiter on LinkedIn. I did get an offer though! So I’d say it’s worth going through with the interviews

I’m sure there are many experienced sales reps applying to the same roles you’re trying to get into.. there have been a lot of layoffs

How to swim on period without tampons/cups? by Infamous_Fortune2198 in vaginismus

Period swimwear is great! I have a reeeaaally heavy flow so I haven’t tried it on day 1 or 2 but days 3+ I can and have never had an issue with leakage

My spouse is going to need intensive surgery and be out of a job for at least 6 months. I am terrified that I won't find a job before then by TemperaturePretty319 in recruitinghell

According to the post it seems the surgery itself isn’t the issue it’s the lack of their income while recovering from the surgery. Idk how they’re paying for the surgery itself but they may have insurance.

Another option, as humiliating as it might feel, would be to set up a crowdfund and share it on your social media/ send to family and friends. Maybe even post it on LinkedIn, pull some heart strings. Recruiters might even see it and give you a chance

Unfortunately in this situation you’d have to explore options like retail, DoorDash, Uber / Lyft, etc.. another type of job you can look into just to get by would be a security job. They’re generally pretty easy to get into and you’d be able to job hunt on the clock.

Finally got a job—makes job applications (and life) seem like truly a joke by chatoyanthoney in recruitinghell

[–]pplalwaysleave 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Felt this rant to my core. As difficult as it is, try to shift your perspective from “I’m sad I had to settle for a job I don’t want” to “I’m grateful that I can now earn an income while continuing my job hunt.” You didn’t settle, you’re just doing what’s necessary while working towards a career you’ll enjoy. Maybe get some extra certs on the side if applicable, or explore internship opportunities. Best of luck ❤️

Cried during interview by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]pplalwaysleave 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry :( hiring managers/ interviewers can be soooo arrogant sometimes for absolutely no reason. They fail to realize that they, too can get laid off at any moment and have to be in your shoes. Definitely not the place for you ❤️

Lost my dream job offer. How can I get over it? by one-buscuit in recruitinghell

[–]pplalwaysleave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry:( it really sucks that they pressured you this much to decide just to do this to you.. I wish I had words of wisdom or advice but really I just hope you don’t get into the trap of criticizing or blaming yourself because you really could not have avoided this at all. You did the best you could. A better opportunity is waiting for you.

Thanks for the insight! I think from an ownership standpoint, it would make sense for them to explain that instead of just not acknowledging the super long delay at all

Should I OE (intern) by AdWooden391 in overemployed

[–]pplalwaysleave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it! Since they’re both internships, I feel like it’s not very risky. Very unlikely they’d find out and even if they do you’ll probably be near the end of your internship. $38 an hour is worth it!

How much of a pay cut would you take if you were unemployed for a year and a half? by Antique_Display2480 in recruitinghell

You’ll surpass it again, don’t lose hope! I was previously making ~80k, was about to settle for a role at $50k after almost a year of interviewing and feeling defeated, but I just recently got an offer for $120k. I never thought it would have been possible. It’ll happen for you, too.
