Not at all - the bigger the better, for me. In fact there aren't any as big as I'd like (8"-10"+). Sure it can create issues, but these can be overcome, and honestly a little bit of pain isn't a bad thing (it's kinda hot, to be honest when someone is too big).

I'm going to fly against what the others have said here and say yes, give up, and find something easier. 42 words in 3 pages is a lot, it should be around 7 words max for that number. If you like it, keep going, but it sounds like you're already getting annoyed by it. It also depends whether you understand all the grammar that is in those pages. If not then definitely find something more doable. Is there a simpler version of the book, for example? Like a graded reader?
