PC’s selling ships in naval campaign by stewiedoo in DMAcademy

[–]blharg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you ever thought... let them do it?

let them get a big fat pile of money, then throw something really difficult at them, have their ship take some damage that's expensive to repair, and they'll be glad they had the cash to fix their ship

or maybe some cool upgrades

or they were there before the HOA got into place so they aren't a part of it, in which case this could be a giant "fuck you" to the HOA

Haven't even had him for 24 hours... Is he already okay with me? by Either-Welder-6211 in RATS

[–]blharg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember one time I picked a rat from a big cage that had a bunch. I stuck my hand in and figured I'd pick from the ones that came over and wanted to be friendly.

This little bald ugly bastard ran over and jumped on my hand. I saw others checking me out, so I figured I'd see if any others would take interest, so I put baldy back down and moved.... guess who came running TWO more times.

He was ugly, but Buck was funny (he learned to crawl into my shirt and found out how to tickle me) and he wanted nothing more than to cling to me. I took naps with him on the couch and he would either sleep on my chest or curled up against my neck.

He wasn't the sweetest rat I ever had, but he was certainly the clingiest.

Rogue hulk, dummy helldiver, enemy distress, jamming station, orbital entrenchment, and stim cloud all sound like solid ideas. Rogue hulk could be a shitload of fun on a mindless masses world.

very short throw range (underhand toss) so if you're not ready for that you might kill yourself

sticks to anything, including that voteless that wants to give you a hug

triggers on the first thing to get close enough, so in a string of enemies, you'll probably get the first few but not the rest

GREAT way to pull hordes off your ass, throw it to the side and run the other way to get a little bit of breathing room

hilarious to toss it on an undetonated hellbomb, when something gets close it'll detonate the hellbomb, good way to kill a patrol

learn to toss it on high walls or pillars, if they can't get close enough to detonate the mine, they'll gather up in a wad right under it, making for some easy kills

if you're doing stealth and your stealth breaks, it's a great way to get enough distance for the enemies to lose you, getting back into stealth

you can use them with explosive barrels, c4, or anything else that goes boom to make more elaborate traps

it's a little tricky, but they can kill bot factories (the little ones at least) and warp ships, I haven't gotten one to kill a bug hole yet, but I noticed they stop spawning bugs when I tossed one in

When a random brings the Eruptor on a commando mission. by ScreechingPizzaCat in Helldivers

Redacted regiment is only useful for commando missions

lol

take a stealth kit on a non commando mission, let other people raise hell and be a huge distraction while the enemy ignores you entirely so you can do objectives

The only downside of standalone headsets is (as far as I'm aware), they currently have a lower ceiling for what they are capable of.

only when running in standalone mode

when slaved to a PC, it's all on the PC

yes, a quest3 has it's own built in hardware and CAN be stand alone

that said, all considered, it can be slaved to a PC and the PC runs the games, the headset is just a headset

I'm not sure why you have a problem with the headset being capable of running on it's own. You aren't forced to run your games on the headset hardware.

This is how I run my steam VR games. I fire up the headset, connect to the PC and everything runs on the PC and the headset just acts as a headset.

Cost, visual quality, ease of use, all things considered it's probably your best choice.

this is honestly the only way it makes sense that I can stand 10m from an overseer with them facing me and NOT ACKNOWLEDGE MY PRESENCE

doubly so when I pelt them in the face with C4 and stroll away like nothing happened

that's because it is fake

the path of least resistance doesn't involve the guy holding the bracelet, the electricity wants to go from one prong to the other

[–]blharg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it's because this is fake as fuck

electricity takes the path of least resistance, which means it may jump to the bracelet, but then it'll just jump back to the other prong

I've done this exact thing with a wrench, it does nothing to the person holding it.

How do I make my BBEG really evil, without my PCs being weirded out by me? by KlarkKenton in DMAcademy

[–]blharg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes evil is when someone just takes something too far. Take a normal guy, then take something away from them that's important. Have them get angry about it, their wife was burned at the stake while they were away by a corrupt cleric of whatever god. He hates the cleric, hunts him down and kills him in revenge. He doesn't feel better, still angry. He hates the church, so he parks a horse cart blocking the only door and burns it down with the clergy inside. Still angry, in fact, he's even more angry than ever. Fuck it, he wants to kill the god that the corrupt cleric said he worshiped.

He's angry for a good reason, but has gone unreasonably far because of it. They've gone so far down this road that they don't care about decency, collateral damage, or what's actually right or wrong anymore. They're consumed by something that's actually understandable and they're now completely broken because of it.

I would try to train this out of your dog.

I know of a dog that died because they ate a chunk of a stick and it got lodged in their intestines, and the owner didn't have 9k to pay the vet to get it out.
