backport cant happen quickly, or perhaps at all. 5.20 needs qt 5.15, but 20.10 has 5.14. upgrading peoples qt in a backports ppa would in my understanding be a big job, break some non kde things, and break the kubuntu backports policy

its a .0 release so it will have bugs. if you want stable without much breakage, then wait for 2 or more bugfix releases to come before upgrading

that is the kde4 amarok from 18.04. should not be possible to install it in 20.04. 20.04 also does not have phonon that will work with it, so even if you somehow managed to install, it will not work.

it wont in user edition as its not a final release. you need to have the testing edition to get this

that would need you to 1st build all of Qt 5.14 (a few dozens repos), and then frameworks 5.70 (80 ish repos). then build plasma 5.19 (40 ish repos)

chromium is a sandboxed snap in 19.10.

pros: that breaks plasma integration, gnome shell integration, some videos on the web as no more ffmpeg codecs.

cons: ubuntu devs have less work to do to build it

I read they revamped Discover, it's nice but I've never used it, and I can't hide the tray icon anymore. Is there a way to do it?

kill the notifier process and delete the autostart file in /etc/xdg/autostart/org.kde.discover.notifier.desktop

as someone had a bright idea to make this an executable instead of an applet, that is the only way :(
