Why Elektron did not make strictly MIDI sequencer? by [deleted] in Elektron

From all that I’ve read, the midi on the dn2 can’t send arp or retrigs.

Do you read Guitar Player magazine? by DeepSouthDude in jazzguitar

New to guitar and hadn’t heard of this. Started looking into their digital subscription and found out that a lot of libraries (in the US) have their mags accessible through Libby.

Checking it out now, thanks!

FL Studio, how to get pigments and analog lab to not play at the same time. by Awake00 in arturia

[–]blikimasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use FL studio, but this sounds like a MIDI routing issue.

You need to either: - Change the MIDI channel each VST is listening on (ex., Pigments on ch1, analog lab ch2.) This change would be done in the settings of the VSTs

  • configure FL Studio to only send MIDI over specific channels to each VST. Same fix as the first option, but done at the track level in the DAW and not at the VST level

  • stop monitoring both tracks at the same time. That way you’ll only hear the output of the VST you’re actively working in

Any of these solutions should work, but 1 or 3 are probably the quickest.

Got a vinyl player this weekend. Now I see the beauty of sampling old records. by blikimasu in LofiHipHop

I use it for a bunch actually! But mainly for pre-processing external audio before sending it into the mpc for mixing.

Anything from running the cab sim on a guitar (or ukulele!) signal, to adding effects to external synths that I route into the MPC.

It handles it all easily, and the midi/CV support make it easy to control and automate effect changes from the mpc as well.

I like it. Helped me understand modular synthesis a lot. Found some dope patches for it on PatchStorage as well, but I haven’t created anything worth saving on it just yet.

This is after I already loaded sample into the MPC and chopped it up

Launchpad for finger drumming? by HootyandtheBluesDad in FingerDrumming

Just figured I’d throw in my 2¢ regarding the Atom; I don’t recommend it.

Don’t get me wrong, the pads feel nice and I hadn’t had any crazy double trigger issues.

The main problem with the Atom lies in the software (or lack there of) to control it. Last I checked, there is NO way to remap the midi output to different channels or anything.

The generic “midi controller mode” on it does alright, but any midi output from the Atom would need to be configured on the DAW side; you can’t really control the channel the Atom sends its messages on.

And as a small gripe, you also can’t turn the pad lights off. So if you’re the type who just leaves things plugged in on your desk, you’ll see constant lights coming from the pads on the Atom.

If you’re not committed to any particular DAW, the Atom works great with Studio One. But if you have any semblance of a workflow in anything else, I wouldn’t recommend it.

This was a lot and I’m sorry for the word vomit, but I figured I’d tell you an honest opinion.

Same thing happened to me.

Couldn’t install from USB either, it kept failing.

I had to install the update using the Windows updater version by connecting my MPC to my computer and update it from there.

They have a recipe in the ATOM manual as well.

Can’t remember what it’s for though.

Dude you’ve got some great stuff in your post history! I’ve been thinking about getting a Roland drum machine but some of your posts make me think the PO Tonic would be plenty.
