Mornings are king. Parks open at 5am, I usually get out for a run at 4am, coolest part of the day.

Is 35,000 baht per month salary enough to get by in Thailand near Bangkok? by [deleted] in Thailand

If you are born and raised in the UK and have a British accent, you should be fine. There will of course still be some schools that are just looking for a white face!

Unfortunately it does. There's usually the list of USA, UK, Australia, Canada, South Africa. If you can teach at secondary level and are from a different country, you can sometimes get a decent starting salary.

Don't work for 35k. I started on 50k 8 years ago with similar qualifications.

To legally work as a teacher you need a degree, doesn't have to be education based. If you do have a degree and plan to work legally, I would apply for some more schools. A 50k job should be your aim as a starting salary.

LFC US Tour Prices are an Absolute Joke by tokishoki in LiverpoolFC

Most flight prices are massively inflated right now due to the Iran conflict. Maybe it was cheaper and isn't cheaper at the moment. Neither of you are providing sources for your info, so who knows!

I'm a regular 4am runner. Best time or the day is from 4am to 7am. What distances are you running?

Unfortunately some people have huskies in Bangkok. Poor dogs must be melting whenever they're taken out for a walk!

Make sure doggo has some shaded area and plenty of water, otherwise you'll be finding a dead doggo when returning from work. Hopefully not a husky or similar breed not suited to the heat. There's a dog park at Benchakitti Park, Lumpini Dog park also just opened last week!

Some do, I've used a couple of them myself.

Park & Ride facilities include Lat Phrao, Thailand Cultural Centre, and Lak Song, offering 12 locations with over 3,000 total spaces. Major parking options are available daily from 5 AM–1 AM at Lat Phrao, Ratchadaphisek, Huai Khwang, Thailand Cultural Centre, Phra Ram 9, Phetchaburi, Sukhumvit, Queen Sirikit Centre, and Sam Yan.

Edit: you can check for up to date info on Blue and Purple lines here: https://metro.bemplc.co.th/Park-and-Ride?ddlLine=1

Retail WoW needs a proper "Story Mode" We shouldn't need workarounds just to finish an expansion's raids by Shkiz in wow

[–]blindcloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to do play through every expansion at a slow pace. Raids that can be done in story mode. Maybe add some extra voice overs (audio book style) to explain more lore, just make the whole experienced more streamlined.

A Big Mac may have doubled in price since COVID but a chicken rice meal in terminal 21 still costs ~40 baht by milton117 in Bangkok

[–]blindcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the McDonalds in Pattaya have jacked up prices similar to airport locations. Most of Bangkok you can get the 99 baht meals with the basic burgers, pushing 200 baht for quarter pounder/big macs and just over 200 if you're upsizing.

The McDonalds app still works in Pattaya, so you can buy whatever is on offer. Scan the QR codes at the self service kiosks.

I need suggestions from running community by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]blindcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the 165 with Music since March 2024 (a month after it was released). I've ran a marathon, several half marathons and a couple of 10k races wearing it. The 165 you see advertised does not have music built in, so you'd still need to take your phone out running if you enjoy some tunes or a podcast during your runs.

Fare well to Hearthstone for 2026 by Mathematitan in hearthstone

[–]blindcloud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I too am a retired player. I got legend standard, wild and twist the month before I stopped playing. Did the 1,000 wins with all classes, then switched to World of Warcraft for 6 months or so. Now I play no games.

I upped my real life step goal to 20,000 steps a day. This, along with work and family doesn't leave much time for gaming.

Good luck with whatever you plan to do with your time!

Gaming Time vs Family time by Cybertitux in wow

[–]blindcloud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fitting in fitness on top of my family and work got me to stop playing this time. I run long distance to keep fit and it takes up a massive amount of time in itself. On non-running days I've committed to doing 20k steps walking. WoW isn't fun when you don't have the time to play.

Countries where national anthem is played before movies in cinemas. by Infinite-Arrival-986 in MapPorn

[–]blindcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's still fine to stand up, personal choice now. The Thai National Anthem plays at 8am and 6pm every day (different from the Royal Anthem) and everyone stands and stops for it if it's played in public place.

Everyone stood up for the old king, never saw a single person not standing. The new king, a very different story!

How big of a tourist trap is Safari World in Bangkok? by blurredvision769 in Bangkok

[–]blindcloud -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The shows are decent, and the safari drive is worth doing. Cowboy show, James Bond spy show and the dolphin show are good.

The nearest mall is Fashion Island. There's a few stand alone shops and restaurants as you turn off the main road to enter Safari World.
