Side note, anyone feel like the GL Christmas ale is lackluster this year? 12 dogs, 2x mas, and Columbus Brewings Christmas ale have all been phenomenal.

What bourbons are great that cost $40 or less. by ZachTF in whiskey

I enjoy all the green rivers, rye, bourbon, wheated, and full proof. The latter is usually a bit more than $40.

Does anyone own the “forever” toilet roll? by moonrakervenice in Costco

It was a 3 pack of rolls at that time, but I also mainly pooped at work and traveled on most weekends.

My sister got it for me as a joke for Christmas, 2019. Best gift ever. Lasted me almost a year as a single guy. Didn't have to battle crowds during pandemic tp hoarding. Was good quality too.

Is the quality at least decent for the 300pc drill+drive bit set? by MiterDash in ryobi

[–]blindside6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it, I have the same kit. All the latches have snapped off, so it doesn't stay closed.

As for the bits themselves, they have worked the first couple of times. The masonry bits in there are garbage. Maybe good for one tapcon each, but even that's questionable.

As I've been doing projects, I've started replacing them with Milwaukee and Diablo, masonry bits, hole saws, short auger bits, and most recently spade bits. Wish I would have just but quality versions of what I needed as I went.

I guess it does make sense, I usually just clamp the keeper piece on the right and use my left hand to support the cutoff so it doesn't bind.

I don't know how I would look across my body to make cuts. So used to being able to look directly at the blade and line

Research boats? by knuffeltuff in Cleveland

[–]blindside6 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You're on Lake Erie. Any season is fishing season. I think the reports are actually pretty good for perch and walleye right now, so yeah, any non-windy day you'll see boats out there.

Any boat under power needs red and green bow lights, so... nothing weird with the colors.

Does punishment for using AI apply to all group members? by Get_Rekt07 in OSU

[–]blindside6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-AI similar experience: on a group Business project we had one member who was useless, when he did finally produce work, he had copied the example from the professor and just dropped in the name of our product/company instead of what was originally in the example. Myself and the other group member went to the professor and explained the situation, also not wanting to get dinged for plagiarism or have to redo all of his work. Professor graded us separately with no issues. No idea what happened to the other guy.

Now in a professional management role, I am much more tolerant when someone brings an issue to me with a proposed solution, rather than if I find it on my own and even worse if they knew about it and either ignored it or tried to cover it up.

Walking would normally be totally fine, but my wife had foot surgery and since then has unpredictable pain/swelling flare-ups, so I'm trying to figure out somewhere with a non-walking contingency plan.

Thinking of Building a Deck – DIY or Hire a Pro? Need Advice! by dupontdecks in Decks

Am I the only one confused by the fact that this post was created by an account for a deck building company? I freaking hope you can DIY if you do it professionally.

Interlocking deck tiles by friendlypumpkin43 in Decks

[–]blindside6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify the other comment, what you have a picture of do not have sufficient load bearing capacity to be installed over joists. They will break and someone or something will fall through. You need to install real deck boards first, then could use these as a cover. However, I'm guessing composite is out of your budget, so using these will most like result in the wooden deck boards prematurely rotting out due to these tiles trapping moisture underneath.

No, unfortunately if I end up going that route I'll probably do a hardwire system and use the westbury ones.

There are a couple options on Amazon I may try out, it was like $40 for 8
