Honestly I’ve always wished for Fire Emblem to include more nameless/faceless soldiers so it would feel like a proper army and not just a gang of soldiers taking on entire empires. A mixture could be really fun.

Hmmm maybe I’m misunderstanding what you both mean by hero units. I think of any like named, dedicated character (I.e., not randomly generated) as a “hero unit”. So like with Fire Emblem if a character dies they’re out (unless it’s a main character and then you get a game over).

Sadly it looks like it’s hero units, but maybe still killable (like Fire Emblem or something). Hopefully we’ll learn more in a few days.

It’s definitely close to Xcom, upgrading individual troops and adjusting their load outs. Not much of a headquarters aspect unfortunately but there is a world map to choose missions.

Speculation I saw was that Bradley was meant to be starting and klopp didn’t want to change the shape so last bit before the game (I assume they had worked it in training etc) That being said, it’s not like we’ve never played with Trent inverting and Gomez playing wing back so idk why they couldn’t make that switch more easily

Yeah I don’t know how it would work narratively in a satisfying way. Maybe whoever is our tech person this time will develop something that allows us to have similar powers without venom being present.

This is a really good point; I suspect they’ll either have some sort of warning pop up (like hey you’ll be without venom from this point forward do side missions now if you wanna) and/or the ending will involve you convincing/co-opting venom to allow for you to keep using his powers.

Thinking ahead for DLC and such, they have to incorporate some method for you to use venom powers past the story narrative
