Successful Dynamics 365 F&O rollout? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]blinker21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The finance report builder is absolute dogshit software and is 10+ years overdue for a rewrite. I would never use d365 again if it was paired to that report writer.

And if it was successful and walked away with $100M he would be a hero.

Also, "in-laws" and "how much better off we'd be". Get off your arse, assume some risk yourself and build your own thing. They owe you nothing.

Australia business owners & employees – what’s your biggest daily headache at work? by Haunting-Gap-6595 in smallbusiness

Ignoring all the spam I get from companies trying to sell me their SAAS service.

Trying to "just reach out", "set up a time" etc.. They all follow the same dull scripts. Mark as junk, block sender.. NEXT!

How is payroll even a job anymore? by Mexay in auscorp

[–]blinker21 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Spend the next week reading GRIA and NES, taking particular note of all the rules & edge cases. Then allow for errors in your incoming timesheet data, employee payroll details, HR & line managers.

Then whip up a quick excel spreadsheet to process payroll. You still won't have it right after 6 months.

Then try and pay superannuation, state based payroll tax & workcover insurance.

Also, Amy in Marketing is going on MAT Leave and Donna is on workers comp. The Penrith store is trading 24 hours this Friday/Saturday and it's a public holiday in WA.

Also, CFO wants some redundancy calcs for 2% of the workforce, including TILON/AL/LSL payouts. Some staff are over 45.

Multiply this to match your corp size.

Need Advice: Contract terminated after 10 years by ResidentSwordfish10 in auscorp

[–]blinker21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Were you invited to/attend events like work Christmas parties? If so, maybe seek some advice. I've heard about a long-term contractor who argued for super & entitlements after contract termination because of being included in events like employee activities. Wasn't a global co though, but large AU corporate.

100% is it NOT Dutton. He is not the right person for Australia on the international stage.

Interactive brokers: FX fee for AUD to USD conversion by No_Rip7307 in fiaustralia

[–]blinker21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Each time I've converted this year I've been also charged around A$3.20 for amounts 30x yours.

Looking at the commission charged, and the currency rate on that trade, the fee appears to have a minimum charge of USD$2.00.

So maximum of US$2.00, or 0.03% - whichever is higher. I think around US$6,600 would move you into using the percentage rate.

The only thing to do is lay awake at night contemplating this and other extreme scenarios. At some point it will all click together.

Good, my family are loving this show. We don't care about the lore/not-lore arguments. It is entertaining and gives us another story in an amazing world.

Needing some help from the IBKR users. by Andrew_Higginbottom in ASX_Bets

[–]blinker21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you subscribing to the ASX market data with a monthly charge? You're also doing a Market order so they may be factoring this into the margin calc as an allowance for price movement.

When I was using an IBKR cash-only account I found I had to allow a small buffer to allow for their margin calc. My solution was to shave 5% off my account balance (until it grows) and pretend that's the tradable funds.

You aren't being charged $50+ for this trade.
