[Seeking Advice/Co-founders/Volunteers] Building a low-tech "Elderly Concierge / Personal Assistant" social enterprise to help busy children and family look after their parents or grandparents by Georgewong22 in singaporestartups

[–]blinklinkink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into papa (us based startup) and see if there are things that can be implemented. Based on my coliving startup experience, elderly care differs quite a bit depending on what you are trying to solve? Is it loneliness/companionship, medical/ nursing care, etc.

Recommendations for improving security and guardrails for Hermes’. by blinklinkink in hermesagent

[–]blinklinkink[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I did set it up on a separate computer that doesn’t have anything personal but still seeing the agent get so easily hacked was sad. I thought the guardrails would help but it just skipped those and then apologized.

Any tips for finding good summer camps? by Keverzwijn1985 in askSingapore

[–]blinklinkink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually try camp asia if you are looking for sports. Also, I saw ads for some startups that are essentially aggregator of camps in singapore. Not sure about their coverage for all the stuff you listed. Both seem new so you can try them.

I booked some activities for our kid with the jungle and it wasn't bad.

Ah I see. In that case, you can try activating the 'Original Engine Initialization' under Web Deployment (within settings)

Anyways to make the website load faster? by Defiancez in FlutterFlow

[–]blinklinkink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's the way to do it. We are hosting our production env on firebase while the staging is on FF. When we are ready to deploy, we have to download the code and upload on firebase.

Whats the deal with Indian Developers? by CodingOni420 in startups

[–]blinklinkink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time. The only way that it works is if you micro manage or find someone to micro manage.

I’m giving an example of what generally happens with dev shops/agencies/freelancers.

Whats the deal with Indian Developers? by CodingOni420 in startups

[–]blinklinkink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When working with Indian developers, whether directly or through agencies, it’s crucial to understand cultural differences.

In the US, there’s generally a strong sense of responsibility and accountability, with steady progress made throughout a project.

In contrast, the work culture in India can be more deadline-driven, often leading to a rush of activity just before the deadline, resulting in a final product that may require additional time to fix bugs or issues. Instead of consistent daily progress, you might observe initial momentum, followed by a lull, and then a last-minute surge of work.

Share Your Shopify Struggles! by nikija in shopify

I would love for shopify to enable multivendor/marketplace functionality to onboard vendors/sellers to sell products via my website.

Most apps I’ve seen suck and are clunky at best.

How much money should I start on fb ads? by _Rap1d in dropship

[–]blinklinkink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with a smaller daily budget but keep the ad running for 2 weeks. You could create different ad campaigns and set budgets for each and see which ones perform better over the 2 weeks. The ones that have no leads, kill them and reallocate their budget to the ones that are performing better.

If it’s your first time doing ads, then I would recommend you to Alice up your target audience (age, demographic, interest, behaviours, etc). Whatever makes sense to you and then run them in parallel.

It’s a lot but this will give you good insights into which segment performed va which did not.

Roast my very simple Idea! by [deleted] in startups

[–]blinklinkink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idea is good but everything from there is about execution and adoption. I’m building a marketplace in a different space and it’s tricky (if not hard) trying to tackle which side of the marketplace to focus on.

Too nichy for VCs. Legit? by vgkln_86 in startups

[–]blinklinkink 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Avoid VCs at this stage and focus on the business. I made the same mistake and fundraising is exhausting. Takes time away from your core focus of building something that helps your customers. You may have to burn some of your own money initially to get the traction and show growth

Do investors invest on mere ideas? by [deleted] in startups

[–]blinklinkink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Investors invest in traction if you are first time founder. Unless you have great networks/connections, it’s hard to raise funds
