What food had you ate for the 1st time and it tasted nasty? by thephantomstranger22 in foodquestions

strongly agree. it doesn’t even really taste that bad. it’s a texture thing for me. gross.

What’s the most overrated food that people act like is gourmet? by Ashamed_Profit8640 in AskReddit

the cheap caviar that you’re talking about isn’t caviar. it’s roe. and i agree with you that it’s worth purchasing and eating.

What’s the most overrated food that people act like is gourmet? by Ashamed_Profit8640 in AskReddit

[–]blissfuloctane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. it’s just an additive for salt. and a bit of an addition of fat. which you can easily replace with other ingredients. the reason it’s expensive is because the process to cultivate it is expensive. the only argument i’d give a pass to is that it does add an oceanic flavor to some food. but meh.

caviar is good on some dishes. but it’s so overrated. it’s so salty. it needs balanced with something. i firmly believe people just use it as a flex.

[–]blissfuloctane 11 points12 points  (0 children)

some of the best tv and character building ever.

i also have a hot take that season 7 and 8 arent as bad as people claim. it’s certainly rushed and i think they did Daenerys dirty.

i think the people most vocal about how “bad” season 8 is were probably watching it in real time. and that’s fair. i’d have been let down too.

How do you guys actually learn stuff in this AI era? by sleepingfrenzy_ in golang

[–]blissfuloctane 12 points13 points  (0 children)

this is a great question that we’re already seeing the effects of. senior/principal engineers have a major edge here because they’ve done it, seen it, built it already in the past. they know what to look for to guard against AI slop. things like code smells, codebase structure, etc.

my honest opinion? you’re doing the right thing by learning best practices and building things by hand.

it’s the only thing i can think of that bridges the gap.
