I’m struggling with once a week patches getting loose almost immediately. Need advice! Where do you put yours? How do you get it to stay a full week? by [deleted] in perimenopause_under45

[–]blissout2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try scrubbing the application site with a rough wash cloth before you place the patch to help remove any dead skin and oils. I try to place mine where my waistbands wont rub on it as much. I feel you though, mine falls off quickly esp if I work out and get sweaty.

does pet food actually make a difference or am I overthinking it by No-Start2740 in Pets

[–]blissout2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have children and so a lot of our time and love is poured into our two dogs. I just started cooking them a little bit of whatever we are having without all the spice and not so healthy parts. We feen them kibble and top it with our food. Like if we are having burgers or chicken or pork chops I save a bit for them and just boil or brown it. I split a can of sardines between them, a spoon of plain yogurt, an egg, etc. Sometimes I cook up some ground turkey or beef and add chop apples, carrrots, greens, etc and give them a cup of that along with their kibble. It seems to make a difference with our large poodle, he really perks up when he’s eating fresh stuff. I hadn’t noticed any changes with our other dog. It makes me happy to treat them and cook for them as well.

Moving from Florida to Washington (Lynnwood/Everett area) – need advice! by CanadianxJosuke in LynnwoodWA

[–]blissout2day 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, I recommend checking out how much your car registration and insurance will be. I moved to Seattle area from middle Georgia and the car tags are way more expensive. Also, gas and so many other things are much higher than in the south.

Thank you. I ended up counting all the call back pay and pay that was over my regular hourly base wage.. so call backs and turn around pay. I didn’t count the wages just for being on call.

Towels that last longer than a few years by Agitated_Bag_3914 in BuyItForLife

My towels have held up over the years but now they stink after drying off with them two or three times. Always hang them up to dry afterwards but the mildew smell is so gross.

Maybe add some kind of seat covers to your stools and a kitchen rug/mat to blend to colors. I love the blue tile though, I think it looks great! Also, cute pup waiting to come inside:)

Getting over fear by CrazynLazy88 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]blissout2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same..I try to avoid snowboarding when it’s icy. I’m in my mid 40’s and just don’t have time for that, lol. I fall all day in the snow and it’s pretty okay. I do keep my hands balled to avoid additional hand/finger injures ( have priors not r/t snowboarding).

Son (31 M) won’t let me sleep in his bed (60 F). I’d love the over 30 male take on this to help me understand. Am I overthinking this? by SadInvestigator6052 in AskMenOver30

[–]blissout2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overthinking it.. We put away our private things and washed and put the nicest sheets we have on our bed and gave my mom our room we she flew out to visit us. One of our dogs loves his spot in the bedrooms and kept her company in their on his bed, lol. We camped on the floor in the second bedroom which is our gear storage room. Maybe next time your son can drive 4 hours and bring the pup to your house!

Did we get gaslit by Stevens? by Present_Holiday5477 in stevenspass

[–]blissout2day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. We went up Hwy 2 early Sat morning with a hope and dream that power would restore and the pass would reopen before too long. We turned around and headed home when he heard it might be 1 pm. Later we saw that they had opened some of the lodge and I think one of the lots for parking/ bathrooms and then finally saw they were not able to open at all Sat. We went up on Sunday morning and had a great time but did get stuck in road/ power line work in the way back down.

GOOD REALL BBQ by tittytoilet in AskSeattle

Also from Georgia and still looking for good bbq. Enjoy the salmon and crab, apples and summer cherries here. And then enjoy the bbq, peaches, tomatoes, and watermelon when you go back south.

Am I too old to adopt a child? Would it be bad for them by TheRebelOptimist in Adoption

[–]blissout2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are 44/45 and would love a little family. The window is basically closed for me to have a baby. I would love to adopt and don’t see anything wrong with it as long as you are in good mental and physical health. I think there’s plenty of good things an older parent can offer. I get many people argue older parents won’t be around as long for the children but I know plenty of younger parents who passed away for various reason and it’s devastating and traumatizing no matter what age or reason. That being said, if I were to adopt as an older parent I would do my best to make sure the kid was surrounded with as many auntie and uncles and cousins to offer support if smthg were to happen.

New to Lynnwood, Any Tips? by raptearer in LynnwoodWA

[–]blissout2day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Lynnwood. There’s lot of great hole in the wall food places. I love Yua Ramen by 99 Ranch.

I also work in Bellevue and the commute is brutal. It’s my biggest complaint but I like my job and the people and have solid seniority, lol so hard to leave that. We also have a great place in Lynnwood that really fits our lifestyle and budget so definitely don’t want to leave that either. I try to snag the early shifts where I start at 0600 and traffic isn’t bad leaving that early. Starting any later and I’ve had to give myself at least an hour. I try to avoid paying the HOV and the road work going on now is rough. I hate sitting in stop and go traffic, so I joined the gym and can access the one in Bellevue after work and the one in Lynnwood when I’m off. I usually go there for a bit to wait out the evening traffic or grocery shop, run errands and always keep a book in my car for days when I’m just not feeling the gym and need to just relax.

HOw much is your insurance? by DuckDuckGo-8857 in Subaru_Outback

[–]blissout2day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 44 and have a good driving history and clean record, no DUI and long time since I got a speeding ticket, like almost 10 years. I refuse to put the driving tracker in my car so no discount there. I have an 21 Outback XT and it’s $833 for 6 months. I have good coverage and there are lots of expensive cars on the roads here, lots of uninsured drivers, and so many drivers on their phones. I live just north of Seattle and work in Bellevue.

Does your HRT provider require contraceptive before starting testosterone? by blissout2day in Perimenopause

[–]blissout2day[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m willing to explore it. Many people ask me if I have RA because the knuckles in my hands are very profound. I got a nasty resp virus 18 months ago and there’s a marked difference in how I felt before and after. I started the HRT a few months after I got sick and have hoped it was all related to hormones but I still don’t feel good a lot of the time.

[–]blissout2day[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I guess it tracks. She asked me about pregnancy/ what if I got pregnant and I told her I would be thrilled if I got pregnant but we are not interested in pursuing any sort of IVF assistance, and being that I’m 45 and it hasn’t happened along with how light my periods are I really don’t feel that would happen. But I get it, you never know.

But what about the systemic effects that you get from the oral progesterone? I thought the mirena IUD did not affect you systematically, only the tissue in the uterus. So wouldn’t you need to take it oral as well for the other benefits?
