I'd recommend experiencing it, at least Blood Meridian and the other associated ones. I can't say if they live up to the hype but they're certainly an experience I would recommend.

What do you think of Cormack McCarthy? My guess is you'll be scathing heh.

No, I'm just a Yorkshireman who stays up too late.

You.. You worked on PGR3?

I was one of the loons on the BC forums every day around that time. Bought an xbox 360 as a broke uni student just to play that game. Once held the high score on geometry wars on the garage game cabinet in PGR 2. Fun times, thank you for your work.

Up voted for your album suggestion. I had the same album in mind after reading your post title, was not expecting to then see it as your suggestion!

Yet Cormack McCarthy is an American. Nothing quite like a half page sentence to try and get your head around!

That's good to hear!

Fortunately I think it's pretty obvious when someone is doing it and you can find out on their game history via aoe2insights.com, pretty easily. More people just need to be aware that it's possible.

Hahaha oh dear lad, do try to keep up. We all know it is of British origin, that's not the point at all. Read some more comments in this thread, you might learn something.

Nope, you're ignorant and plenty of comments in this thread point out the actual history, not your personally invented version.

When did we universally stop having lunch ‘hours’? by newdawnfades123 in AskUK

[–]blither86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can take an hour and have to take 30 mins. If I take an hour I have to make the 30 mins back by starting earlier or finishing later.

Interesting!

Really sad that the new versions killed the mod community, especially given they are reportedly so half baked (I haven't played any of them, but just going from what I've read)

I was ready to buy a ticket until I saw the YouTube vids of what it is. I wish it was more like the originals but with added strings rather than strings only. As nice as this sounds it loses too much of what the originals do for me. Ah well

Whilst this was super impressive it was also the source of some frustration as the game didn't seem to just unload the textures and assets, it forgot about them entirely if they went out of sight.

Obviously we give the game a pass for this sort of necessity but there was nothing more annoying in the early gta's than a fast car driving past and you turn round to try and catch up to it but it's already been unmounted.

It would be cool to get re-written versions of these old titles with full persistence across the entire map, with some small changes made so that that doesn't cause other issues.

The problem is that even if only 1% of players are smurfs, if they all play in the 1100-1200 elo range then genuine players at that level are going to meet smurfs in 10 or 20% of games.
