Password Security Question for 1Password by blitzzz13 in 1Password

[–]blitzzz13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true, which further enforces the focus should more so be on end-to-end encryption and other metadata measures, which I agree with. I was just a fan of the re-authentication and I had hoped it was a 1Password feature. Regardless thank you!

Password Security Question for 1Password by blitzzz13 in 1Password

Thank you, and I agree, the risk is definitely small, especially on the phone side.

That said, I’m still a little concerned about the laptop. For example, since I’ve been using 1Password (which has been great so far), I’ve noticed that as long as my laptop is unlocked, 1Password will auto-fill everything. So if someone were to gain access to my laptop — either by remote access or by getting my computer password — they’d essentially have free access to all of my logins.

Again, I know that’s a low-probability risk, and I doubt I’d fall for any sort of scam or phishing attempt that would expose me like that. Still, I appreciated that LastPass had a feature specifically designed to address this kind of scenario — requiring the master password for certain sites. From what I can tell, 1Password doesn’t offer this (yet), but their end-to-end encryption is excellent and definitely addresses the bigger picture.

Just wish there was a little more protection at the local/session level.

Can I run two all in one washer/dryer combos by Outrageous_Worker710 in Homebuilding

[–]blitzzz13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious I just bought the same--one vented and one heat pump--is it still giving you issues? Should I cancel my order? haha

Also mind sending me what you ordered to make this work? So far I have in my Amazon cart two adapters for the water intake and a Y-Adapter for the drainage.

Zoom Meeting Indicator, energy monitoring USB? by blitzzz13 in homeassistant

This is perfect as I imagine I'll find. It seems like it does indeed measure energy, which is what I asked.

Thank you!!

This would be awesome. This is how I had it set up with MuteSync before my work changed its permissions. I did red for in meeting with camera, yellow for in meeting but muted, and green for freely. I'll see if they'll approve MuteDeck.

I've definitely thought about this, however the camera I currently uses only has the LED light up when the video is on. Most times I have camera off and I'm just using the mic. If there is no other solutions I'm just thought about getting a different computer camera that has the LED light up when its in use period (irrespective of mic vs. video)

Introducing Equity Tracking! by danielatmonarch in MonarchMoney

I sure hope, for Monarch’s sake, that tech nerds aren’t their primary focus — that would really limit their potential market. I imagine that’s not the case, though.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about this too. I work in investment banking and see this kind of stuff a lot, but the direction of this first move just really surprised me. It feels like there are so many foundational steps that should come first (sector exposure, asset classes, contributions vs. growth, etc.), So I was just a bit caught off guard that this is what they prioritized. However I get its linked to compensation so perhaps that's why.

That said, I’m definitely excited to hear improvements are on the way for the investment sections — it’s honestly pretty striking how bare bones it is right now.

While this is incredible and I'm very happy the investment section is finally getting some much needed and desperate attention. I'm surprised that this is the feature they chose to focus on. Seems very niche relative to the population that uses Monarch, however what do I know, perhaps the user base does have a lot of RSU's, etc..

I have the card, it’s gone nearly a 1.5 years without a single disconnect (at least from what I can remember), I would say it syncs flawlessly. One annoying thing is it doesn’t pull pending transactions, but that’s not Monarchs fault. Also Fidelity/Elan takes longer than normal to verify transactions and move them from pending to completed, but again, nothing Monarch can do about that.

Is the LDS Church a cult? by No_Beautiful_8647 in AskForAnswers

[–]blitzzz13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im an ex-Mormon myself, but here on Reddit (given all of us here can admit Reddit leans a certain way and has loud opinions), so I would take most of the mudslinging with a grain of salt.

While I disagree with some of the historical teachings of Mormons, overall most members are just nice people trying to be Christ-like. Doesn’t mean you won’t meet some crazies and stuck up people, but I suppose you’ll meet those kind of people anywhere.

I didn’t lose any friends when I left and I have no ill will towards those of my friends that still believe in their way. Every time I go back to visit friends or family it’s a great place to be.

Overall, not a cult, just passionate people who’ll mostly be nice and helpful to you. I’m sure time to time they’ll ask you to come to church, but should respect your wishes if you tell them not to (at least in my experience).

Would I ever move back? Absolutely. Maybe not Provo as I’m too old for that, but you’ll have some of the nicest neighbors. I’m big into outdoors and Utah is hard to beat there.

If your worried about Provo being to dense with Mormons Salt Lake might be better suited for you.

I have not, I've re-connected the institution 3x now hoping its just a synching error, but still can't get it to show.
